Back To Basics – How Buffer Cache Works Deep Dive

Abstract: Most of the time, we learn and forget the very basics. One such thing is the Oracle Database architecture. Among the other areas of the database’s instance, Database Buffer Cache is discussed extensively. This presentation will recap the architecture of the buffer cache, how it impacts the performance of the database and SQL, and what the DBA needs to watch for.

Aman is an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Professional, and an Oracle database specialist. Aman is an Oracle Certified Professional and has been working on various versions of Oracle databases, and engineered systems i.e. Exadata, ExaCS and ExaCC.

Aman works as an instructor training professionals around the world , in various Oracle technologies. Prior to this, he worked as a DBA for a large software development company.
