Monowar was awarded the SELECT Journal Editor’s Choice Award, which is awarded by the SELECT Editorial Board to a SELECT Journal author for their excellence in writing a technical article in SELECT Journal.

2020 Distinguished Service Award Winner: Monowar Mukul

Tell us a little about your company.

I am working at the Department of Education, NSW Government, Australia. Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.

What is your job title and what do you do in your role?

I am working as a Principal Oracle Database Specialist. My daily tasks include – the end-to-end design and implementation of different database environments with Maximum High Availability Structure for both on-premise and cloud (OCI, Exadata, AWS, Azure).

What Oracle product do you use and what do you like most about it?

I am using Oracle ASM, RAC, Data Guard, OEM 13c Cloud, OMC, RMAN, Exadata, and Oracle Infrastructure Cloud. I like the Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) which is fully autonomous, and built-in SQL Developer Web and Apex including Machine Learning Notebooks.

How long have you been involved with Quest?

I have been involved with Quest for less than a year.

How have you benefit from being part of Quest Oracle Community?

By being part of Quest Oracle Community, I am improving my knowledge and skills from resources provided by Quest.

What’s one interesting fact about you?

Besides keeping me up to date with technologies, I love traveling.

Do you have any children or pets?

I have two sons – Eammon Monowar (11) and Armin Monowar (9).
