Important Announcement About JD Edwards Updates

Oracle JD Edwards is pleased to make an important announcement regarding updates and releases. These changes focus on building modern solutions into today’s workforce. We’ll talk more about upgrades and tools this April at COLLABORATE 2018.

Let’s jump right in! Here are a few changes to look forward to:

  • UX One updates, including mobile employee time entry, mobile inventory transfer and cycle count and a mobile foundation framework for mobile apps
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) enhancements for production teams, such as a new work order scheduling application, a new processing option, automated shortage management, cycle counts and more
  • Real estate management tools such as straight-line lease accounting
  • Financial management and human capital management support
  • Health/safety incident management
  • Legislative updates that help manage measures, such as OSHA compliance

Wait … there’s more!

That’s definitely not all the Oracle team is doing! We’re also thrilled to report that JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has introduced Update 2 to their 9.2 Tools release. This update includes major changes to some useful features including Notification, Orchestrator, digital process transformation, operational simplification and updated platform certifications.

Quick sneak peek: The JD Edwards expansion of EnterpriseOne Orchestrator highlights include a revised Watchlist service request. A new scheduler allows orchestrations to operate more smoothly and track inventory, credit limits, etc., and sends notifications for each.

Updated features that simplify staying current include Object Tracking and Enhanced Impact Analysis, as well as a Customization Workbench that has been newly recreated to support electronic software updates.

Platform certifications within the 9.2.2 framework are as follows:

  • Oracle Database 12.2.0.1
  • Oracle JavaScript Extension Toolkit (JET) 3.1
  • Oracle Mobile Application Framework (MAF) 2.4 for Mobile Foundation
  • Microsoft EDGE browser 38

According to Robert Monohan, Vice President, Product Management, “Today’s announcements demonstrate Oracle’s continuing investment in the JD Edwards products and our commitment to our customers to enable their journey to a digital enterprise.”

We’ll be diving deeper into these upgrades in later blogs, so stay tuned! In the meantime, you can read Oracle’s press release here. If you really want to maximize your JD Edwards knowledge, we recommend joining us for our Oracle COLLABORATE conference, COLLABORATE 18, April 22-26, 2018!
