There seems to be much confusion around what the benefits of process mining software are compared to off-the-shelf business intelligence BI and which is more valuable for making business decisions. While there are several good BI tools available in the market today, they all come with a certain set of drawbacks; You need to have…

As part of Quest Forum Digital Event: Cloud Week, Sharon Perkins from Yum! Brands and Chris Costakes from Elire, Inc. presented on Yum! Brands' Oracle HCM Cloud integration methodologies. The pair provided overviews of several different services, highlighted reasons that Yum! Brands made the choices they did, and provided example use cases.

This presentation will give more functional users tips and tricks that I've learned over 20 years of using PeopleSoft.   When we went to PeopleSoft there was so much more data available to us but no one to extract that information and analyze it.

Ever feel that you're so snowed under with PeopleSoft transactions that you can't see the forest for the trees? PeopleSoft has some powerful tools available that can give you the big picture, letting you focus your attention where it is most needed. When those tools let you drill down from insight-heavy graphics to taking action on specific transactions, you have the power to master your workload. BYU has been investing in these visual tools, and we'll demonstrate them in this session.

BYU partnered with Gideon Taylor to create a pivot grid-based tool that helps users see what's happening across thousands of eForm transactions. Related Actions let users drill into the transactions themselves, send emails to participants, and leverage administrative tools, all conditioned on user security.

Gideon Taylor will also review other visualization tools available in PeopleSoft, including Simplified Analytics, Fluid Dashboards, Oracle JET, and Kibana.

Come see what you've been missing!

A funny thing happened on the way to modern, data-driven analytics: we ditched the GUI for ETL development. There are drawbacks to moving data using code instead of clicks, especially for organizations heavily invested in visual tools. But writing code has an upside as well.

In this presentation, we’ll explore the data engineering discipline, and how it compares to conventional ETL. We’ll look at classic batch as well as modern streaming use cases, and consider DataOps requirements around testing and delivery where code really shines. And we’ll do it all inside of an interactive notebook.

Oracle Machine Learning “moves the algorithms to the data”, processing data where it resides—in the Oracle Database (On-premises, Cloud, and Autonomous).   This next-generation, hybrid, combined Data Management, and Machine Learning platform enables companies to harvest more insights from their data, eliminates data movement, delivers scalability, preserves security, and accelerates model deployment. Oracle Machine Learning’s 30+ in-database algorithms can address many business problems e.g. predicting behavior, finding anomalies and detecting potential fraud, recommending “next best offers”, sentiment analysis, anticipating churn and discovering key attributes.   OML supports the key roles—data scientists, business and data analysts, database and application developers, and executives with ML algorithms, SQL, R and Python APIs, AutoML, notebooks, UIs, and tight integration with open-source R and Python.  Come hear the latest developments, how to get started and what’s coming next.

Oracle GoldenGate for Big Data now supports multiple different targets and platforms and delivers outstanding performance. It serves as a bridge between two different worlds of data-driven technologies. We can connect our traditional relation data stores with new modern non-relational and streaming data platforms. The presentation will go through different Oracle GoldenGate Big Data adapters their properties, options, and discuss different use cases.
