Come & hear a true SaaS Cloud Transformational story from the Executive Sponsors of Citizens Inc and BIAS Corporation - an Oracle Platinum Partner. Citizens - an insurance holding company based out of Austin Texas - was working with a dated mainframe system; no budgeting or reconciliation platform; and heavily relied upon manual processes & Excel for much of their financial operations and reporting. This led to long processing times and impacted their overall financial close. Citizens planned their transformational journey focused on achieving four main goals: 1. Streamline financial processing 2. Improve internal controls & reconciliation processing 3. Decrease the Business reliability on IT. Oracle & BIAS worked together to design a tailored strategy proving to Citizens that not only was Oracle ERP; EPM & HCM Cloud the right solution for them; but it was also very affordable; configurable and can be implemented using a faster; modern approach.

The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which has dramatically improved the rights of individuals when it comes to protecting their personal data has been launched in May 2018 and has added a lot of compliance requirements especially when implementing HCM solutions. Failure to comply may result in heavy penalties. But what exactly needs to be considered with respect to storing personal information; maintaining it and finally deleting it on time when there is no more requirement to keep the data? What procedural aspects need to be considered in order to setup an HCM solution that fully complies with GDPR? The presentation will give insights into a recently completed HCM project for recruiting purposes where Oracle Taleo was implemented over the course of 4 months and will highlight the various GDPR compliance requirements (technical as well as organizational) towards the implementation and how these were successfully fulfilled.

Objective 1: Learn why it is important in times of GDPR to have a compliant HCM solution in place

Objective 2: Learn how such a solution can be implemented in less than 6 months with Oracle Cloud

Objective 3: Learn about the special requirements driven by GDPR

Chris Murphy, Director of Cloud Content at Oracle, spoke with Sarabjeet (Jay) Chugh, a Senior Director of Emerging Technology Products at Oracle, about how to determine if blockchain fits into a company’s project. Since there is so much recent excitement about emerging technology and the potential of blockchain, today’s workforce faces the risk of project planners applying this technology to problems that it doesn’t fit with. Chugh’s intention is to help organizations avoid that issue, sort out business use cases for blockchain, and decide if blockchain or a different solution, like a database, is the best fit.
