In this session hear how SPPS and Collier IT (CIT) collaborated to build and support Oracle’s PeopleSoft Human Resources and PeopleSoft Financials in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. SPPS is a Minnesota-based public school system and CIT is a technology consulting company, and the two have partnered to successfully migrate SPPS’s PeopleSoft workload to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Learn about its success strategies and lessons learned about the implementation and transition phases. Learn how SPPS leveraged the expertise of CIT to move to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Hear how CIT provided ongoing infrastructure support services to keep SPPS infrastructure up and running.

With the recent announcement at Oracle OpenWorld, starting in Oracle Database 19c, we are allowed to have up to 3 pluggable databases per container database.  Effective Oracle Database 20c, non-containerized databases will no longer be supported.

As an attendee of this session, you will receive a free copy of the PDB Me to Oracle Cloud book written by Oracle ACEs.  Come learn what it takes to effectively create, configure, manage and monitor Oracle PDBs.  Learn all the latest and greatest new features of Oracle PDBs from Oracle 12.2/18c/19c.

Oracle Log Analytics Cloud Service offers an easy way to monitor, aggregate, analyze, and correlate log events from across your database and Exadata environment. In this session learn how DBAs can easily configure log collection and efficiently analyze logs from their database environment to rapidly troubleshoot problems. See how to use plain language analysis to easily find errors across different log sources. Experience the power of machine learning techniques to rapidly identify anomalies that can lead to a problem’s root cause and eliminate finger-pointing.

Complex performance situations are not always quickly diagnosable using an AWR time-based analysis or an ASH sample-based analysis. And certainly, the diagnosis will not be completed the second new data becomes available or before a support ticket has been received!

A solution is to use a supervised learning classification machine learning model. We can train the model to recognize and "understand" a virtually unlimited number of Oracle performance and business-related data.

Once trained, we will present the model with just-available data asking, for example, if a support ticket will likely be submitted. Or perhaps, if the performance will likely be green, yellow, or red.

Join me as I build a "Poor Performance" indicator using 100% free industry-standard tools, such as Python and the "Always Free" Oracle Autonomous Database with Oracle ML SQL Notebooks. All presentation slides, scripts, and a recording of the demonstration are available!

Oracle is revolutionizing how data is managed with the introduction of the world’s first self-driving database. Oracle Enterprise Manager offers a unified, cost-effective, and easy way to automate the migration of your on-premises database workloads to the next generation of industry-leading database, Oracle Autonomous Database, eliminating human labor and error. For Database Cloud Services, Enterprise Manager helps DBA’s consolidate Databases or Infrastructure on OCI Cloud and also assess success of migration. Reap benefits from seamlessly transferred configurations, periodic synchronization of data with production, and “time travel” capabilities such as rewind/refresh. Join this session to learn more.

One of the most common SQL Tuning problems is when the Oracle cost-based optimizer misestimates the expected number of rows that will be returned from an execution plan row source operation. This presentation delves into uncharted waters to help attendees understand strategies for dealing with cardinality misestimates.

Trace File Analyzer includes features and tools to help Oracle customers achieve improved outcomes when creating service requests and interacting with Oracle Support. Learn how to leverage these components to speed and automate creation of service requests, target collection for specific issues, and use the SQL Test Case Builder to assist Oracle Support investigations of database and performance issues.

Participants will learn:
-How to use the advanced diagnostic features in TFA to create targeted collections based on specific conditions and events.
-Ways to connect TFA to MOS and upload files directly to Service Requests.
-How to use the SQL Test Case Builder to create and share performance incidents and reproduce problematic SQL on other databases.
-How to automate collections, create notifications, and view, package and manage RDA incidents from within TFA and Autonomous Health Framework.

In this session join Oracle Database Product Management to learn more about using JSON in the Oracle Database. Learn about some of the new innovative ways that the Oracle Database can be used to load, store, and manage JSON and take advantage of the enterprise class features that Oracle provides so well.

We will also take a look into the unique Oracle Database features to leverage memory-persistent technologies for fast ingestion and retrieval of attribute-value pair data.  Other topics that are covered include the SQL language enhancements for complete flexibility and ease of use when working with JSON.

The session will also be discussing some of the enhancements being released in Oracle Database 20c for addressing the use of JSON.
