During Quest Forum Digital Event: Cloud Week, two members of Oracle's Product Strategy Team for Risk Management Cloud - Dane Roberts and Aman Desouza - spoke about advanced options to protect HCM Cloud data and manage user security. The pair dove into:
-The latest analytical techniques and best practices for robust user security control
-Strategies for automating compliance tasks for data privacy, segregation of duties, SOX, GDPR, fraud prevention, and other obligations
-New HCM Cloud advanced control techniques to automate compliance and security administration

During Quest Forum Digital Event: Cloud Week, ATCO (Alberta Trailer Company) Group's Ella Kulyk gave a presentation on Oracle Cloud Security from the customer perspective.

During Quest Forum Digital Event: Innovation Week, Oracle's own Dane Roberts and Barry Greenhut spoke about proven best practices for ERP Cloud security and audit. The pair discussed ways to design roles in ERP Cloud, certification of user access to sensitive personal data, and protection of data privacy. These three areas of thought fall under the category of replacing error-prone spreadsheet analyses with modern segregation of duties security analysis tools. Roberts and Greenhut also explained continuous monitoring for high-risk changes to both master data and cloud application configuration setups.

Learn the how and why of running Oracle on Windows, and some tricks to help you along the way.  This session will benefit the Beginner to Mid-Level Oracle DBA faced with running Oracle on a Windows Server, and may also teach some old hands a trick or two.  Instead of delving into topics that would be for Server Administrators, this talk will deal with issues directly related to DBAs running Oracle on a Windows Server.  Find out how to leverage many of the features that Windows has to help you as a DBA, including taking advantage of some of the command line and scripting options available.

This presentation explains the functionality and administrative operation of the Multitenant (MT) option to the Oracle Database.  This overview of the MT architecture precedes the majority of the presentation content, which covers administration scenarios of the MT option with several examples.  The administration examples include common procedures related to pluggable database management, plus examples of new 18c and 19c functionality.

Oracle Databases are a target of cyber-attacks by hackers looking to obtain sensitive data such as credit card numbers and personally identifiable information used in identity theft.  Even though databases are not externally accessible, they are still a target as most cyber-attacks penetrate the network perimeter and look for high-value targets within your internal network.  This session will review and demonstrate the tools most used in database breaches including Metasploit, Nmap, database rootkits, and other tools.  Each tool will be demonstrated and the indications of such use against the database will be shown.

Complex performance situations are not always quickly diagnosable using an AWR time-based analysis or an ASH sample-based analysis. And certainly, the diagnosis will not be completed the second new data becomes available or before a support ticket has been received!

A solution is to use a supervised learning classification machine learning model. We can train the model to recognize and "understand" a virtually unlimited number of Oracle performance and business-related data.

Once trained, we will present the model with just-available data asking, for example, if a support ticket will likely be submitted. Or perhaps, if the performance will likely be green, yellow, or red.

Join me as I build a "Poor Performance" indicator using 100% free industry-standard tools, such as Python and the "Always Free" Oracle Autonomous Database with Oracle ML SQL Notebooks. All presentation slides, scripts, and a recording of the demonstration are available!

ChatOps is an automation model connecting users and tools to processes through messaging applications. It leverages the simplicity and familiarity of chat to empower users to interact directly with applications and databases, retrieving information, and performing work in real-time. Done right, ChatOps is a safe, agile way to minimize or eliminate tedious, repetitive operational tasks and reduce workloads. Virtually anything can be automated or called via ChatOps through simple commands—from self-service password resets, to initiating reporting cycles, to running ad hoc refreshes of development environments—all without granting end users access to a database or application.

This session covers:
-Connecting Oracle databases in the Cloud or on-premises to chat services via REST
-Considerations for building database APIs to handle ChatOps interactions
-Methods for securing communications between the database and application
-Practical examples of ChatOps integrations

Encrypting data at rest is a foundational strategy for any information security program. The security of your data depends not just on how complete the encryption is within database environment but also on how much security and control you have over the encryption keys. In this session, join Oracle Database security product managers to learn about innovations in Oracle Transparent Data Encryption including online migration from clear text to encrypted data. Hear about the latest innovations in key management including the new multimaster high-availability architecture for Oracle Key Vault. The session also features real-world customer deployment cases.
