Server Manager and REST API Changes
To decrease the cost of operations and updates, JD Edwards has enhanced Server Manager capabilities, resulting in Health Checks for important businesses servers. In fact, Oracle’s release on Server Manager claims to decrease new Tools deployment time by up to 63 percent.
According to LearnJDE.com, some benefits of running health checks include quick monitoring of health status for single or multiple instances, enabling users to perform on-demand health checks. Furthermore, you can view the Health Check from the Track station.
This update will impact the following servers:
- Enterprise Server
- HTML Server
- Application Interface Server (AIS)
- Transaction Server
- Business Services Server
- Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher Server for OneView Reporting
- Oracle Database Server
You can run these tests a couple different ways — from the user interface or as REST APIs. For those users working with REST APIs, note that Oracle has updated these functionalities too, with enhancements for provisioning, monitoring and diagnostics.
