When we last left off speaking about the capabilities of JD Edwards updates, we talked about the importance of staying current with health checks and changes to REST API. Oracle made these enhancements due to changes in Oracle’s Server Manager, Oracle’s database administration tool. For the latest, hands-on information about software updates, we’ll be hosting quality education at our COLLABORATE 2018 conference in Las Vegas.
Object tracking and enhanced impact analysis:
Visibility is important to track and assess how your business functions across the enterprise. Object tracking and impact analysis give you greater insight into how users are operating JD Edwards, which gives users a broad overview that speeds up many processes — from troubleshooting to compliance to performance.
Users can quickly reference important information about business functions and make changes based on valid statistics.
Batch deploy of user defined objects (UDOs)
Users can deploy various user defined object packages simultaneously and get a summary report when they’re finished updating.
Customization Workbench supports Electronic Software Updates (ESUs)
All Electronic Software Updates are now supported by an easy process for retrofitting customizations that might have missed out on a new wave of updates.
Platform certifications included in the 9.9.2 Tools Release:
- Oracle Database 12.2.0.1
- Oracle JavaScript Extension Toolkit (JET) 3.1
- Oracle Mobile Application Framework (MAF) 2.4 for Mobile Foundation
- Microsoft EDGE browser 38
Address Book
Address Book can now allow customers to enter the full legal name, regardless of the standard field length. This feature can be especially helpful for people with especially long or hyphenated names. New updates to Address Book also include the following:
- Entry validations to check address info and eliminate duplicate records
- Alternate language support allows customers to save Address Book fields in the language of their choice that they, their users and customer base understand
Human Capital Management
HCM was enhanced this year to better position HR and management for strategic employee data. Here’s what changed in human capital management:
- Ability to update Date in Current Job when performing mass updates
- Ability to delete Job/Pay History records from the Update Employee History application
- Ability to enter an explanation on each time card in Employee Daily Time Entry and Employee Summary Time Entry
- Greater flexibility with automatic clearing house (ACH) deposits
We’re happy to wrap up the year with these relevant JD Edwards updates that will prove useful for so many of our users and readers. As soon as we hear of other major changes, improvements or important news, we’ll let you know. We look forward to showing you more information about upgrades and technologies at our Oracle COLLABORATE conference, COLLABORATE 18, April 22-26, 2018.
