PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 Image 18 is now available

Oracle continues to invest in PeopleSoft applications on an ongoing basis, including frequent delivery of significant new functionality on its latest 9.2 release. Customers can selectively adopt new features and enhancements using the PeopleSoft Update Manager. You can view a short video that presents a high-level explanation for each major feature delivered with FSCM Image 18 with the FSCM Highlight Video Update Image 18. Below is more detail on all the updates within FSCM image 18.

PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenter Framework

The PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenter Framework is a PeopleTools 8.55 feature that allows system administrators to create WorkCenters that can be used on a mobile device, such as:

  • Smart Phones (SFF: small form factor).
  • Tablets (MFF: medium form factor).
  • Laptops, Desktops and some tablets. (LFF: large form factor )

PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenters are designed for specific roles and provide a central area for users to access key components within PeopleSoft applications. They enable users to access various pages and perform daily tasks without leaving the WorkCenter.

Similar to PeopleSoft Classic WorkCenters, PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenters are delivered as empty components. However, PeopleSoft delivers examples of application-specific WorkCenters. It’s the responsibility of your system administrator to design and create PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenters for your organization.

Billing WorkCenter – My Billing Work

My Billing Work provides managers and operational leads access to an overview of the scope of work for their organization, review exceptions, and scan for anomalies, using a mobile device.

PIA Travel Authorization UI Refresh

The classic Travel Authorizations entry component user interface has been refined to match the expense entry, cash advance, and approvals component user interface introduced in Expenses. The UI is simplified and takes advantage of the newest technologies available with PeopleTools, and provides a consistent look and feel to all core Expenses transaction.

Simplified ChartField Entry

The PeopleSoft Fluid Travel Authorization component leverages the ChartField entry framework designed for simplified use across all of PeopleSoft for mobile devices. With the ChartField Templates, users can enter and edit ChartFields while using Fluid Travel Authorizations. The display of ChartFields is dependent on the form factor/device which the user is using.

Accounting Tags

Accounting Tags increase data entry efficiency by reducing the number of keystrokes required to enter frequently used ChartField combinations. Accounting Tags are used when a transaction is created using a PeopleSoft Fluid page. With this image, PeopleSoft Payables – Payment Request is the first to use Accounting Tags. The purpose of accounting tags is to standardize how PeopleSoft FSCM applications distribute accounting transactions when using the PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface.

Creating Payment Requests using PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface

The Payment Request using PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface enables end users to create ad-hoc requests for payments anytime on any device allowing the user to submit requests with minimum knowledge of PeopleSoft, reducing processing time and making payments faster.

Third Party Imaging Solution Integration

PeopleSoft provides an open integration with any digital repository capable of supporting Web Services and optical character recognition process (OCR) to assist with transactional data entry into Accounts Payable and eSettlements. This integration provides options and hyperlinks to the imaging repository for quick and efficient linking to a transaction.

Using the Data Export Import Utility to Import EDI Files

The Data Export Import Utility (DEIU) file transformation now supports Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). DEIU supports electronic data import in place of EDI Manager and Application Messaging. Using DEIU, you can import data from an EDI file or a translated EDI file into staging tables. PeopleSoft delivers DEIU transformation programs to support EDI file utilization in Payables and Receivables. In Payables, DEIU is used to load files with invoice data into the staging tables before the Voucher Build process.

PayPal Integration

PeopleSoft eBill Payment introduces PayPal as an electronic payment method, using the PayPal Express Checkout functionality. The PayPal integration provides more flexibility and options to self-service customer users.

Aging Enhancements

You can view aging information by contract on the enhanced Aging by Department Report. This report shows the age of open Accounts Receivables balances for all items for a given Department ID, summed by contract number, and grouped by customer ID and business unit. In addition, the enhanced Aging tab on the Collections Workbench and the Account Overview Balances page show aging details with links to view aging setup and items in a selected aging category.

Item Search Enhancements

The Advanced Search for the Item List includes new contracts-related criteria, such as contract number, line, and type; Billing Specialist and Authority; and Reference Award Number. You can also search for items based on contract number in the Customer Accounts – Item Information component.

Worksheet Enhancements

You can now enter advanced search criteria for items on the Payment Worksheet, Credit Card Worksheet, Maintenance Worksheet, Transfer Worksheet, and Draft Worksheet. The Maintenance Worksheet for refunding a credit now shows the Supplier Address Sequence.

Expanded Bank Reconciliation

PeopleSoft Treasury expanded support for the automatic bank reconciliation process with new pages, components, application engine programs, message catalog entries, and PeopleCode, and the ability to migrate configuration data across environments. With easy-to-configure reconciliation rules, users can reconcile multiple transaction lines to multiple bank statement lines and reconcile transaction(s) to bank statement line(s) using parsed addenda information. The redesigned bank reconciliation process helps to maximize the match rates and minimize manual user intervention, as well as reduce customizations.

Simplified Analytics Example for Procurement Operations Home Page

A reporting capability “Simplified Analytics”, provided in PeopleTools 8.55, enables users to create a report leveraging information displayed on the page. With Simplified Analytics, users can create, customize and save analytic reports, and drill down detail information related to a Supplier.
