The Import Asset Data via Spreadsheet feature is a user-friendly, template-driven asset data upload tool. Using this feature, you can enter asset transaction data offline using a spreadsheet application and import the data into asset management tables. With the import asset data via spreadsheet component, you can add capitalized and non-capitalized assets with accumulated depreciation, retire assets, create asset retirement obligation conversions and create initial asset retirement obligation measurements. Benefits of this feature include expedited asset creation and management, the ability to import assets en masse into the asset repository and a user-friendly, template-based interface.
PeopleSoft Delivered Templates
The Import Asset Data via Spreadsheet feature includes configurable spreadsheet templates that you can use to generate spreadsheet files. You can use the spreadsheet files you generate to input your asset data and upload asset data into asset management. PeopleSoft delivers spreadsheet templates designed for these transactions: adding capitalized assets, adding non-capitalized assets, adding capitalized assets with accumulated depreciation, retiring assets, creating ARL conversions and creating initial arrow measurements.
Quick Tip for Creating Your Spreadsheet
The upload process responsible for importing the asset data into asset management requires that the spreadsheet file you create be formatted in a “comma separated values” file, also known as CSV.
