The JDE Connection: Episode 38 – Announcing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 25

Hosted by Chandra Wobschall and Paul Houtkooper

Hello JDE Connection listeners and readers! We’re thrilled to share the buzz around JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 25. What’s new, what’s exciting, and why this release is a game changer for your ERP journey.

A Season of Change, A Season of Innovation

First off, can we just say—it’s that time of year again! The leaves are falling in Colorado, temperatures are dropping into the 30s, while Chandra is enjoying 72-degree morning runs down in Florida and no longer dodging hurricanes, and here we are, ready to celebrate a new release.

Why Release 25?

“Speaking of versions, what are we talking about today?” Paul asked. Chandra segued perfectly into our main topic: Release 25. This annual update continues the model year naming convention—think of it like the auto industry, so you can easily see how current your version is. Release 25 introduces key improvements aligned with major initiatives like enterprise automation, sustainability, and user experience enhancements.

Highlights You Can’t Miss

  1. Enterprise Automation: Process Modeler
This is a show-stopper for those invested in process optimization. The new Process Modeler provides out-of-the-box templates for order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes. Here’s the kicker: these templates are built around your existing order activity rules, making them customizable to your unique business setup. “The modeler reads your system’s configuration and generates a flow that mirrors your operational reality,” Paul explained. Drag-and-drop functionality, status-specific KPIs, and snapshot comparisons for post-optimization analysis are just a few of the powerful capabilities baked into this tool.
  2. Enhanced Financial Management
For all the “recovering accountants” out there (looking at you, Chandra!), Release 25 includes targeted updates that simplify financial operations. One of the standout features? You can now assign delinquency fees based on the business unit from the invoice, enhancing flexibility beyond the traditional address book setup. “Turns out, this was a highly requested feature,” Paul noted.
  3. Warehouse Management and Real Estate Improvements
We heard you, warehouse teams! Release 25 bundles several usability enhancements into the license plate workbench to streamline operations. And for our friends in real estate, editing tax information directly within the manual billing program is now simpler, reducing the number of clicks needed.
  4. Sustainability Framework: First Step in ESG Reporting
Sustainability is top-of-mind for many organizations, and Release 25 marks JD Edwards’ first major step in this arena. We’re enabling JD Edwards to serve as a reliable data source for scope 1 stationary emissions. This data can integrate with Oracle EPM’s sustainability framework, allowing you to meet reporting standards without extra fuss.
  5. Performance and System Administration Updates
From integrating the Performance Workbench directly into Server Manager to simplifying the development client setup by centralizing web servers, Release 25 aims to ease system administration. Developers, rejoice—these changes translate to fewer headaches and more streamlined operations.

Key Takeaway: Process, Innovate, Repeat

Chandra shared her excitement: “As someone who loves process improvement, I can’t wait to use the Process Modeler to see where our sales orders stall and why.” The sentiment rings true for every feature in Release 25—these updates are built to help you analyze, optimize, and continually enhance your business processes.
