This session was presented at BLUEPRINT 4D 2026.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) offers a comprehensive platform for running enterprise workloads in the cloud, but new adopters often ask the same questions: Where do we start? How is OCI structured? And how do we establish security, visibility, and governance from day one? This session provides a practical introduction to OCI for anyone getting started or evaluating adoption. The session focus is on helping attendees build a clear mental model of how OCI works and how early design decisions shape security, operations, and cost over time. The session walks through how OCI organizes resources, access and identity, and networking, and how built-in capabilities support secure access, operational observability, and governance as part of the platform. Attendees will also learn how to approach OCI onboarding in phases, so teams can start small, avoid common early missteps, and scale with confidence. By the end of the session, participants will understand how OCI is designed to support secure, observable, and well-governed environments from the beginning, and what practical next steps to take as they move forward.
