Asset-intensive industries are those business operations that have invested substantial capital in fixed plant and/or mobile equipment used to generate revenues for the company. In many instances, these processes and equipment have components that are routinely "swapped out" with available spares to ensure continuity of production operations. At the same time, the "used up" component is rebuilt and restocked as an available spare. In 2023, Agnico Eagle Mines conducted a Six Sigma Kaizen event with representatives of their business operations to discuss their corporate challenges with Repairable Spares and to build a business case for how to improve the handling of Repairable Spares in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1). The results of this Kaizen indicated that Agnico Eagle Mines could conservatively save at least $2.6M/year if they had better JDE E1 systems and processes to manage the complex integration of Accounting, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Inventory related to Repairable Spares management. Agnico Eagle Mines has chosen to implement the new EnterpriseOne Planned Component Replacement module created by Asset Management Solutions to address this critical business requirement. Join Agnico Eagle Mines and Asset Management Solutions as we discuss details of their Repairable Spares Kaizen initiative and demo the capabilities of the Planned Component Replacement module for EnterpriseOne.
