One of the biggest challenges to continuous adoption of JD Edwards updates is dealing with existing customizations. While the ability to modify standard objects has been a powerful feature that allowed many organizations to tailor the software to their specific needs: these modifications also present a major time sink for analysis and retrofitting whenever we apply ESUs or Application Updates. Meanwhile: Oracle has given us numerous tools that allow for solutions to be created on the glass: which bypass the need to merge our changes with an official release. This session will cover how Irex Corporation implemented an internal customization review process and provide the tools: techniques: and lessons that you can use to begin shrinking your own customization footprint.
