What started as a simple task—giving our Chief Human Resources Officer a plain-language rundown of HR roles—somehow snowballed into a full-blown investigation of all non-data roles. Our JDE pulled together a list of every role in the system and analyzed program access, and that’s when the barrel of fun officially tipped over.
Turns out, our roles were like a chaotic monkey chain, tangled in overlaps and redundancies. One role connected to another, which connected to yet another, like an elaborate game of digital Whac-A-Mole. After much wrangling, we finally arrived at an undeniable truth: a major security overhaul is barreling toward us, whether we like it or not.
