Juana Bordenave, Director of HCM Cloud Global HR Product Strategy, recently presented an updated Oracle HCM Cloud roadmap and strategy.
Oracle HCM Cloud’s Global HR provides a single point of entry to manage all worker needs, including the personalized experience that is expected when automated or human processing is needed.
Oracle HCM Cloud Roadmap and Strategy
HR Rules Management
HR Rules Management has a new approach with three primary areas. There is now Centralized Rule Management. In addition, there is single configuration, single interpretation, and single calculation. It can also be applied in HR, Compensation, Benefits, T&L, Absence, Payroll. Contract Terms, Seniority Rules, Onboarding Rules, Disciplinary Actions, and Termination Rules.
Oracle’s vision and strategy is to provide a comprehensive solution to manage and optimize the global workforce from the more complex, highly regulated industries to those that manage to compete aggressively in this competitive market. The objective is to support rules-driven processing to ensure the simple end user experience. This can only be accomplished with a configurable rules engine to support complex HR Rules.
Oracle plans to use the Rules Engine to provide flexible support for all workers, both union and represented workers. The Rules Engine will allow them to define benefits, absences, and payroll deductions based on the employee profile. Seniority rules processing and collective bargaining support will also be available when utilizing this Rules Engine.
Grade Step Progression
Grade Step Progression will also benefit from the Rules Engine. Progress workers will automatically move from one grade/step to the next. It is based on configurable business rules and defined criteria. The criteria for the progression can be date-based or activity-based.
HR Position Budgeting
HR Position Budgeting has been delivered and allows for tracking budget amounts as a position. It also has the ability to define open positions as you budget for newly requested positions.
Several things need to be considered when planning and optimizing for the future workforce. The capability needs to be available to plan, model, and measure organizational changes quickly. Users need to be able to measure the impact of re-organizations, acquisitions, or reductions. There also needs to be the capability to implement change management quickly with an approval workflow tool.
OnBoarding
There are also numerous OnBoarding enhancements that are very beneficial. There is now Electronic Signature, Uptake Questionnaire as a task type, OTBI Support of Onboarding, HireRight Integration (I-9 Support), and a new work area for Checklist tasks.
Documents of Record
There are several other advancement investments in the areas of single manager Global Transfer Transaction, Documents of Record, and Enhanced support of Workers API. With Documents of Record, there are now deep links for document records and delivery preferences. Display docs are based on view and manage privileges. Enhanced support of Workers API looks like Assignment Actions, Work relationship actions and LOVs.
HCM Experience Design Studio
HCM Experience Design Studio provides an opportunity for personalization, support, presentations, and strength. Personalization is utilized through the HR apps and Support provides a culture fit. You are able to present localized content and strengthen it through compliance.
