In January 2024, Toll embarked on a journey to upgrade its E1 environment from Release 21 to Release 24. What began as a 6 month Tools release has evolved into a large scale project replacing all 119 E1 servers. We will cover the twists and turns of the project, such as changing of project managers mid-stream, discovery of previously unknown integrations, juggling multiple vendors and few other surprises. The goal of this session is to share the lessons we learned from our roller coaster ride to help make your upgrade as smooth as possible.

Printpack, an Atlanta-based manufacturer of flexible and rigid packaging, faced challenges in effectively communicating production data from its contract manufacturers. This study presents the implementation of technology and integration solutions to streamline the contract manufacturing process.
Methodology included the development of an internet portal, file integration systems, and the implementation of barcode labeling. Results show significant improvements in visibility and traceability of the manufacturing process, with an increase in data accuracy and a reduction in processing time. This study demonstrates how targeted technological solutions can overcome communication challenges in contract manufacturing, leading to improved efficiency and accuracy in the packaging industry.
The research addressed three main objectives:
Objective 1: Provide flexible data communication options for vendors
Objective 2: Improve material packaging and labeling for enhanced inventory management
Objective 3: Increase production data accuracy for improved payment validation

Halito! (hello in Choctaw) I'm pleased to present on our implementation of Redwood within the Oracle Learning module for employees, managers, and LMS administrators at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. This presentation will cover our strategic approach to the rollout, including the timeline and sequence of events, as well as the challenges we faced and the solutions we developed. The challenges we encountered included security issues, difficulties with the admin classroom page and dropdown lists, visibility problems for managers regarding direct reports, the absence of the learning tile post-enablement, and change management obstacles. We successfully addressed these challenges through Oracle Guided Learning, the execution of ESS jobs, adjustments to security roles and privileges, modifications to profile options, and effective communication strategies. As an Oracle HCM analyst, responsible for the full implementation of Redwood for Learning, I possess comprehensive insights into the entire process and would love to share my experience.

This presentation highlights the strategic approach and execution of a comprehensive upgrade that simultaneously tackled the PeopleSoft Tools version, the PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) version, and the transition to Fluid. The initiative aimed to modernize the system's functionality, improve user experience, and optimize performance while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
The project required meticulous planning, rigorous testing, and robust communication strategies to ensure a smooth transition. Key components of the upgrade process included:
• Extensive Testing: A thorough testing framework was implemented to identify and address potential issues, ensure system stability, and validate the functionality of integrated processes.
• Strategic Planning: The team devised a detailed project plan to manage interdependencies between the Tools, PUM, and Fluid upgrades, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Effective Communication: A comprehensive communication plan engaged the user community, providing regular updates, training resources, and opportunities for feedback to foster understanding and adoption.
Attendees will gain insights into the challenges, best practices, and lessons learned from this complex upgrade process, as well as actionable strategies for managing similar projects. By aligning technology enhancements with user needs and operational priorities, this upgrade set the foundation for a more efficient and user-friendly system.

UDOs are a powerful tool and can help automate processes and provide a better alternative to modifying the JDE system code. UDO data is stored within the database and understanding where it is and how it is used can be extremely valuable, especially during system upgrades. This session will help you understand how to work with UDOs whether you are doing an upgrade, consolidating instances of JDE, or just working on a project with UDOs.

This session explores how Oracle DBAs can transition to a multicloud environment by extending core DBA tasks—such as server setup, database creation and configuration, user management, access control, backups, and performance tuning—to cloud platforms. We’ll cover the essential skills DBAs need to succeed in cloud environments, focusing on how these tasks adapt and expand in multicloud settings.

With this foundation, we’ll delve into Oracle-Azure Multicloud, as well as AWS and Google Cloud offerings, examining how these platforms support seamless database operations across providers. Practical use cases for Oracle-Azure multicloud integration will be discussed, highlighting the flexibility and performance advantages of a multicloud strategy. To conclude, attendees will gain a roadmap for building multicloud expertise, learning how to leverage Oracle, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud for scalable, cross-platform database management.
