At INFOCUS Envision, Oracle JD Edwards' AJ Schifano introduced three JD Edwards customers, Womble Company, Granite Properties, and J. B. Poindexter & Co., who are utilizing digital transformation in present-day operations. Each of the customers presented their company’s JD Edwards footprint before outlining an Orchestrator solution to a real business problem. The stories are both inspiring and impressive as each company applied seemingly new technology to achieve a better bottom line.

The market for electric cars in Norway is powering ahead, with most new cars being fully electric or hybrid. In addition to new sales, there are also many used electrical vehicles being sold with buyers typically requiring a home charger installed. Circle K Norway provide home chargers and installations and sell them online.
Online orders went into Salesforce and sales staff would receive a notification email. The challenge was that each order had to be manually registered in JDE taking up to 10-15 mins each time. Manual entry also meant that there was potential for human error to creep into order data entry.
Circle K wanted to automate the entire process from Salesforce to JD Edwards. Using Orchestrator, the team developed an orchestration and API for Salesforce integration.
Now each order takes 1 minute to process versus 10-15 minutes originally. The orchestration works so well, that Circle K Norway are now looking to use it for B2B transactions and in other use case scenarios.
Objectives
Cut out all non-value-added activities using orchestration.
Remove human mistakes and errors.
Improve efficiency by repeating this tactic for other business transactions/activities.

The JDE E1 Tech SIG presents this panel discussion of the Orchestrator, how to create orchestrations, the tools and technology necessary to incorporate orchestrations into tools for users. Best practices and Gotcha's to be discussed.

Sharing of ideas and issues with the Tools for Orchestrations that are supported, including HTML/AIS instances in Weblogic and the Server Manager and what processes can be turned into orchestrations.
Gathering enhancements to be managed by the Technology SIG using Quest's enhancement system and given to Oracle to be implemented.
Discuss the user interface and how orchestrations can be scheduled, called directly from applications and notifications that go with them.
