In an information-heavy world full of JD Edwards data produced in endless formats, connecting multiple worldwide business units effectively becomes critical. The cornerstone to effective global data integration is a reporting strategy that ties cultures, people, and geographical regions together.
For Tupperware, the challenge is managing multiple JDE instances across numerous business units, worldwide. Rolling out one reporting solution across 38 countries presents numerous and diverse currencies, languages, and time zones. Furthermore, connecting hundreds of citizen developers across the globe creates never-ending data variables that if left unchecked, can wreak havoc on data integrity.
Join Tupperware’s Tom Messer, Sr. Director IT Transformation, to discover how to bring global business units together through reporting that integrates multiple worldwide JDE instances, while overcoming the hurdles of numerous data variables

Ever feel that you're so snowed under with PeopleSoft transactions that you can't see the forest for the trees? PeopleSoft has some powerful tools available that can give you the big picture, letting you focus your attention where it is most needed. When those tools let you drill down from insight-heavy graphics to taking action on specific transactions, you have the power to master your workload. BYU has been investing in these visual tools, and we'll demonstrate them in this session.
BYU partnered with Gideon Taylor to create a pivot grid-based tool that helps users see what's happening across thousands of eForm transactions. Related Actions let users drill into the transactions themselves, send emails to participants, and leverage administrative tools, all conditioned on user security.
Gideon Taylor will also review other visualization tools available in PeopleSoft, including Simplified Analytics, Fluid Dashboards, Oracle JET, and Kibana.
Come see what you've been missing!

Oracle Machine Learning “moves the algorithms to the data”, processing data where it resides—in the Oracle Database (On-premises, Cloud, and Autonomous). This next-generation, hybrid, combined Data Management, and Machine Learning platform enables companies to harvest more insights from their data, eliminates data movement, delivers scalability, preserves security, and accelerates model deployment. Oracle Machine Learning’s 30+ in-database algorithms can address many business problems e.g. predicting behavior, finding anomalies and detecting potential fraud, recommending “next best offers”, sentiment analysis, anticipating churn and discovering key attributes. OML supports the key roles—data scientists, business and data analysts, database and application developers, and executives with ML algorithms, SQL, R and Python APIs, AutoML, notebooks, UIs, and tight integration with open-source R and Python. Come hear the latest developments, how to get started and what’s coming next.

Complex performance situations are not always quickly diagnosable using an AWR time-based analysis or an ASH sample-based analysis. And certainly, the diagnosis will not be completed the second new data becomes available or before a support ticket has been received!
A solution is to use a supervised learning classification machine learning model. We can train the model to recognize and "understand" a virtually unlimited number of Oracle performance and business-related data.
Once trained, we will present the model with just-available data asking, for example, if a support ticket will likely be submitted. Or perhaps, if the performance will likely be green, yellow, or red.
Join me as I build a "Poor Performance" indicator using 100% free industry-standard tools, such as Python and the "Always Free" Oracle Autonomous Database with Oracle ML SQL Notebooks. All presentation slides, scripts, and a recording of the demonstration are available!

Database In-Memory is targeted at speeding up analytic queries by orders of magnitude over traditional row-based queries. Join Oracle Product Management in a journey that will take you through the architecture and features of Database In-Memory. Learn how to get started with Database In-Memory, how to identify which objects to populate in memory, how to identify which indexes to drop, and details on how to integrate it with other performance-enhancing features of Oracle Database. This session will also show you how Database In-Memory speeds up your analytic workload and will provide tips on how to configure Oracle Database to get the biggest performance benefits. This session will not cover what Database In-Memory is, but will instead tell you how it works and what to do to implement it.

Powerful Machine Learning (ML) is now available to Oracle DBAs. Over the past few years, a number of changes have occurred making this possible. As Oracle DBAs, it is now our turn to leverage ML, enabling us to do things never before possible.
But there is a lot to learn. Everything from methodology to math to tools. And then the nagging question of, are there real machine learning use cases for the Oracle DBA?
In this presentation, I'm going to introduce you to the world of ML from a DBA perspective! This includes understanding what ML is, why use it, and why now. The ah-ha moment will occur when you realize many of our monitoring, alerting, diagnosis, and analysis skills are significantly enhanced with ML.
I will demonstrate a simple yet complete ML project using Python and the "Always Free" Oracle Autonomous Database with Oracle ML SQL Notebooks. All presentation slides, scripts, and a recording of the demonstration are available!
