As part of PeopleSoft Global Day 2019, Nagendra Krishnappa, Product Manager of PeopleTools Development at Oracle, spoke about PeopleSoft on the Oracle Cloud and how you can get there with PeopleSoft Cloud Manager 8.0. In his presentation, Nagendra covered Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), PeopleSoft on OCI, and PeopleSoft Cloud Manager 8.0 capabilities.

The PeopleSoft team has identified potential issues within Fluid Simplified Journals and has corrected them in order to create a more efficient process for users. One of the primary problems is that the Journal Entry Component Page has had a very large number of fields and links. Many of these fields and links are used on only a few journals and have very particular functions.

Now that you’re settling back in at home after COLLABORATE 19, it’s important to follow up with all of the new connections you made while you were there. You may have collected a few business cards, and now’s the time to sort people into established categories that define how to go about building those relationships.

Emerging business technologies can help solve both operational and strategic problems. These technologies represent a growing toolbox of opportunities to help solve problems, but there might not always be an obvious match between the problem and an emerging technology. Steve Andriole, the Thomas G. Labrecque Professor of Business Technology in the Villanova School of Business at Villanova University, laid out the executive’s guide to emerging business technologies in an article he wrote in Forbes. His guide laid out what executives need to know and five steps to help them find the answers to their questions.

In this episode of the PeopleSoft Spotlight Series, you’ll learn drivers behind developing PeopleSoft Fluid UI, what Fluid UI is and what it can do, and how to develop a strategic plan to roll out Fluid UI. Fluid User Interface represents PeopleSoft’s strategic direction for delivering a robust and intuitive, yet familiar experience for application users. Application usability is something that PeopleSoft has been working on for a long time. Each of the last few releases of PeopleTools has included enhancements to the user interface. PeopleSoft has been paying attention to the overall experience that users have as they work with applications. The goal has been to make systems more intuitive and easier to use.

Greg Kelly, part of Oracle’s PeopleTools team, presented to Quest users about how to develop best practices to help harden and protect their PeopleSoft applications. Some of the latest PeopleTools security features can help users protect PeopleSoft against both internal and external threats to their system and data. The presentation walked through recent threat scenarios and how they could have been avoided, or at least considerably reduced in scope. Greg also covered monitoring tools and how they can be used as part of behavioral analysis to detect and respond to threats.
