RectorSeal Enhances Performance and Achieves Seamless Transition with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Presented by:
Dan Shinedling, KS2 Technologies, Inc.
Abstract:
RectorSeal is a leading provider of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and industrial supplies. Looking to transform and grow, they planned to upgrade JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to take advantage of its new features. However, their on premise infrastructure and the cost of upgrading OS and database licenses was slowing down the process – presenting roadblock after complexity after roadblock.
Looking for a simpler approach, they looked to the Cloud…and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure proved to be the right choice for RectorSeal. By taking advantage of what’s native in OCI vs. “roll your own” with on-prem, they were able to dramatically increase their capabilities all the while reducing their software licensing costs and overall spend.
In this session we will review the project lifecycle and success factors – from cloud selection, the benefits of OCI compared to other platforms, and the critical components of the implementation that ensured success. We’ll also share lessons learned and things to consider as you plan your own migration.
