Utilize HCM Functionality and Configuration tools to Streamline Network and PeopleSoft Account Mgmt

Presented by:
Andrea Hamm, City of Calgary

Abstract:

The City of Calgary has been utilizing HCM tools and integrations with network account management services to automate the creation and deactivation of employee network and PeopleSoft accounts in HCM, CRM and IHUB for the past 10 years. This process took advantage of the approval tools, Integration broker, and dynamic role security functionality along with custom configuration pages to support the process. Recently, the process was updated to include contractors/external resources who require network accounts, eliminating the manually intensive, paper-based process between HR and IT for managing non-employee network account requests. The City revamped the business process, centralized the data into the PeopleSoft HCM, implemented manager and basic contractor self-service functionality, and incorporated this into the existing automated network account activation and deactivation process. The process within HCM is utilizing existing tools like Smart HR Templates for Managers, Dynamic Role security, Fluid Approvals, and a dedicated tile, navigation collection, and dashboard with Pivot Grid reports for the Non-employee Administrators. This presentation will highlight what was done with the recent changes and how The City took further advantage of delivered functionality and configuration tools, as well as the efficiencies gained between HR and IT since it was deployed.

Funds Distribution Retroactive Processing

Presented by:
Amy Miller, State of Oklahoma

Abstract:

Developed integrated Project Costing Funds Distribution functionality to support flexible and automated redistribution for previously distributed costs. Solution provides robust audit trail and integrates with pricing / billing to allow organizations to change funding vehicles, priorities and thresholds for previously distributed costs. Designed as a plugin to allow business units to Opt-in for usage without impacting business units using delivered functionality. Solution will be of primary interest to organizations that rely heavily on Funds Distribution to manage projects funding and functional users and support personnel responsible for managing Project Funding and retroactive funding changes. Many Transit and Transportation organizations use this functionality, but any organization using funds distribution to drive Project billing for federal and state costs will have a strong interest in this capability.

Abstract:

Please join the Oracle Public Sector Special Interest Group for a networking session! The Oracle Public Sector (OPS) Special Interest Group (SIG) advocates for improvements in Oracle ERP systems such as PeopleSoft Financials and HCM. The OPS membership is comprised of individuals from public sector and other institutional users, and we are partners with Quest and Oracle. We are a volunteer group that has a wide array of expertise in HCM, Financial, PeopleTools and Cloud Services specific to Oracle/PeopleSoft products. Please join us at this session for an open forum session to discuss current challenges and hot topics in the public sector realm. We will introduce new and existing Advisory Group members and discuss current topics for public sector customers using PeopleSoft and Oracle Applications. This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with others that face the same challenges as you, and to share our successes/pain-points! We will also share some opportunities to engage with us outside of this conference to learn and share information on any new technology or features that you are implementing in your organizations. We have good working relationships with Oracle Strategists and would like to advocate for public sector organizations and assist with your PeopleSoft journey.
