Featured Presentation:
Data Hygiene in PeopleSoft: Managing Special Characters for Clean, Reliable Data with John Bush
Special characters such as accented letters, non-standard dashes, and other non-ASCII characters often sneak into PeopleSoft data through manual entry, file uploads, or interfaces. While these characters may seem harmless, they can cause significant issues in downstream integrations and reporting. This session will explore the challenges of maintaining data hygiene in PeopleSoft when dealing with special characters, highlighting common pitfalls and the impact of inconsistent data on organizational outcomes.
Attendees will learn practical techniques for detecting, cleaning, and standardizing special characters in PeopleSoft. We’ll cover validation strategies using PeopleCode, cleansing approaches with Oracle SQL functions such as REPLACE, and advanced handling with Java calls. The session will provide actionable methods to prevent problematic characters at the point of entry, streamline data integration, and ensure long-term reliability. Participants will leave with a toolkit of best practices to strengthen their PeopleSoft data hygiene and improve the accuracy of their enterprise data.
Thank you for joining and for being a valued part of this community. We’re glad you’re here!
