Defunct JDE Data: What it is, where it hides, how to find it, and how to clear it.

JD Edwards is driven by data – in particular for M&D companies.  Sales order records, related AR transactions, EDI, MRP messages and work orders, POs and the related AP vouchers and payments … and of course all things end up in the F0911.

On top of that are customers, vendors, item masters, item branches, BOMs, asset masters, address book, GL accounts, business units /branch plants and the myriad tables related to these.

Did you know that the branch/plant (normally MCU) has 90 different aliases used across nearly 1600 tables?

If you have defunct data due to years of neglect removing old transactions, business changes, company divestitures, branch reorgs, and geographical closures – how much dead and pointless data are you holding?

In this call, Mike Guerin from iSP3 will walk through making sense of all of this.  What are the different types of possible defunct data? How do you identify it?  How do you determine what is relevant?  And most importantly – what on earth do you do with it / how do you clean it up?  Mike will share some case information on data analyses done for other JDE customers that are relevant and present the “Academy Awards” of monstrous tables.  Do you have some of the 13 billion records Mike has seen in backup tables, or 9 billion hanging out in Z tables?  He will finish by touching on how the no charge data analysis can help figure it out, and how Purge-it! can help with the real work of the cleanup.

If you are preparing for a divestiture, had a previous divestiture, or have not looked at a transaction/master data cleanse in the past 5 years – you should attend this session.
