James was awarded the Newcomer Award, which goes to a new member who has jumped right in and become involved with Quest.

2020 Distinguished Service Award Winner: James McBride

Tell us a little about your company.

Mastech Digital, Inc. (NYSE American: MHH) is a leading provider of Digital Transformation IT services to business leaders in segments ranging from finance and banking to telecommunications and healthcare. Leveraging the power of over thirty years of IT experience, Mastech Digital provides services in disciplines that drive today’s business operations, including Data Management and Analytics services; digital transformation services around Salesforce, SAP HANA, and Digital Learning; and IT staffing services.

What is your job title and what do you do in your role?

My job title is Oracle Cloud Lead, and I manage a team of five individuals who support our Oracle Cloud ERP, HCM, Time & Labor and Java Cloud Service environments. I am also the primary functional resource for our ERP implementation.

What Oracle product do you use and what do you like most about it?

I currently use Oracle ERP (GL, Cash Management, AP, AR, and PPM), Oracle HCM (Core HR, Absence Management and Time & Labor), and Oracle Java Cloud Service for integration/extension purposes.

What I like most about Oracle Cloud is the fact that the application constantly evolves and expands to meet business needs. With the quarterly updates, we continually receive new functionality that did not require our team to spend critical time developing. This allows us to focus on critical areas of the business that will provide the most benefit to the organization.

How long have you been involved with Quest?

I have been involved with Quest for about a year and a half.

How have you benefit from being part of Quest Oracle Community?

I have made connections with many individuals experiencing the same problems and challenges. These connections have allowed me to share and receive critical information and input on challenges large and small. Without these connections, it would be significantly harder to keep pace with the ever-expanding nature of the Oracle Cloud products.

What’s one interesting fact about you?

I survived the 1987 Edmonton tornado in the backseat of a Mercury Grand Marquise.

Do you have any children or pets?

I have two sons, a cat, and a dog.
