First Quantum Minerals Ltd., (FQML) Case-Study with EASYProcess No-Code / Low-Code App Dev & Integration Platform
Presented by:
Ben Tyrell, K-Rise Systems
Rudolph Horn, First Quantum Minerals Ltd.
Doug Palaske, K-Rise Systems
Abstract:
FQML JDE Superintendent, Rudolph Horn, overviews the many projects, over 8 years with the K-Rise Systems team & EASYProcess No-Code / Low-Code App Dev Platform.
Rudolph’s IT Team has been fully trained in EASYProcess, enabling internal development ownership. The platform allows seamless synergy between all members of his development team.
Rudolph notes: “Combining No-code & Low-code technology to develop apps allows us to deploy resources in the activities most suited to them. Our JDE Developers, trained in both technologies, focus on the Low-Code IDE with developing complex functions in the app. Our Solution Designers & Architects, using the No-Code IDE focus on the app: Workflow, Front-End UI, Business Rules, Data Validation & Integration (E1 & Others) requirements.”
Rudolph’s case study reviews their many (best practices) pre-built & custom EASYProcess-developed apps. The projects reviewed are:
MDM Item Master: The app has significantly streamlined the Item; Submit, Track, Approve, Notify, Create, Edit, and Maintain processes. The workflow easily manages the distinct ANSI and ANSL workflow processes.
AFCE Capital Expenditure Portal: The portal allowed FQML to quickly create a clear and standardized process for new capital investment requests. This new system was integrated with JD Edwards to generate the necessary master and transactional data and approval workflows.
MDM Vendor: The Portal with optimized processes, facilitates the registration of new vendors and manages edits with existing vendors.
PO Mgmt. – Vendor Prepayments: Facilitates prepayment scheduling against PO’s. The optimized schedule and release process integrate with E1 for issuance.
The projects have improved FQML operational efficiency, reduced manual processes, improved data accuracy, and optimized inventory & payment control. We now maximize IT resources and are meeting business goals & success.

Automating Business Processes with Orchestrations
Revolutionizing Business Operations with Intelligent Automation and AI
Presented by:
Pardha Panchananam, Denovo
Abstract:
In today’s fast-paced business environment, enhancing day-to-day operations through innovative technology is crucial. Automation plays a key role in streamlining processes and boosting efficiency, allowing businesses to focus on their core activities. Leveraging the power of AI, companies can implement intelligent solutions that adapt and evolve with their needs.
A significant advancement in this field is the development of Small Language Models (SLMs). These models are easier to create, less complex, and simpler to implement compared to traditional models, while still being smart enough to learn and improve over time. Small Language Models (SLMs) are more cost-effective than Large Language Models (LLMs) due to their lower computational and storage requirements, making them cheaper to deploy and run. While LLMs offer broader capabilities, SLMs are ideal for targeted tasks and can be deployed on local infrastructures without massive investments. We will present a few custom tools that offer features beyond standard solutions, providing unique capabilities that enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
By focusing on intelligent automation and AI, businesses can create more efficient, streamlined operations, ultimately leading to better outcomes and a competitive edge in the market.

AP Invoice Automation: Robust Native E1 Integration Paired with Acclaimed AWS Textract OCR-as-a-Service – The Perfect Combination for Maximum Automation
Presented by:
Ben Tyrell, K-Rise Systems
Doug Palaske, K-Rise Systems
Suman Prasad, K-Rise Systems
Abstract:
AP Automation is a way to reduce the manual tasks related to your Accounts Payable Processes. With superior E1 integration, AWS Textract is an AI / Machine Learning service scans your disparate supplier invoices automatically extracting the info needed WITHOUT pre-configuration or position-based templating.
E1 AP Automation eliminates traditional paper-based processes. It provides tremendous business value with fast streamlined automated processing, resolutions, and approvals delivering fewer errors and cost savings.
AP Automation eliminates time-consuming & error-prone manual processes with automation. Some features are:
No Mapping, No Template, OCR AI Does All the Work
Uses the EASYProcess No-Code / Low-Code Workflow Engine to Handle Approvals, Notifications & Exceptions
Voucher Entry, 2-Way & 3-Way Receipt Matching
Handling Tolerance & Miscellaneous Supplier Charges such as Freight & Handling Etc.
Scanned Invoices embedded as Media Attachments
Support of PDFs, JPEGs, Tiffs & Handwritten Invoices
Taking Pictures of Physical Invoices Using a Built-In Native App
Cloud / SaaS Solution
Our partnership with Amazon AWS delivers the #1 E1 AP Invoice Automation.
How does our AP Invoice Automation app work?
Invoices are Uploaded: Hardcopy, Electronic, Email Attachments, Scanner, Batch, Manual or Supplier Portal.
Invoice Data is Captured: AWS Textract AI, extracts the data in a normalized structure. Address Book / PO Header & Details, Tax, Freight, etc. are captured in a standardized structure.
Validating the Data with JDE: Workflow approvals, notification, and resolution paths initiate based on 3-Way, 2-Way, Voucher, Scan results, and other parameters. Configurable rules process accurately against your specific JDE instance.
Exceptions, Issues & Deviations: Scanned data issues require an intelligent exception process. Supplier invoices spread across multiple PO’s can require intervention. Easily work through audited edits and corrections. Users can easily annotate on the scanned invoice for better communication.
Workflow, Approval, Rejection, Clarify: Workflow logic like Account or Dollar thresholds dictate approval paths. Easily add Delegation, Escalation, Time Constraints & Multi-Task (sub-workflows at a status).
Reporting: Management views & dashboards to monitor efficiency.
Eliminate invoice backlogs, take advantage of payment incentives, lower invoice processing costs, reduce errors, eliminates overpayments, and increases employee satisfaction. Suppliers are now paid on time increasing their satisfaction metric.
