Creating Value in a Health System from Corporate Side

Abstract:
While sometimes-overlooked, corporate, or back office, systems are capable of creating real value in a otherwise clinical-focused Healthcare organization. We present three such cases from our team at Northwestern Medicine (NM). First, NM was an early adopter of Fluid Open Enrollment and presented our implementation experience at that time. Now we’ll revisit OE after several years and look at its effects. Next we’ll look at how process mining with Celonis of PeopleSoft Purchasing can identify gaps and inefficiencies in business process. And finally, we’ll discuss a system-wide role-based access control system driven by PS HR events.

Digitizing Vaccine Administration & recording information using PeopleSoft electronic business process

Abstract:
Implementation of electronic vaccine administration business process eliminating paper forms and manual tasks involved in administering and recording vaccines (Flu, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TB, Tdap). Employee Health department Nurse Practitioner use I-pad to access PeopleSoft mobile friendly vaccine online pages, go through screening questions with the employee, record the vaccine details like manufacturer name, date given, lot number, get signature from employee using electronic signature pad built in PeopleSoft and save the data. System automatically updates information in PeopleSoft Employee Health tables, generates electronic vaccine consent form and emails the form with signature to the employee. Employee can also access the form from self-service vaccine details page, administrator also has access to download the form from employee health administrative pages.

Creating a Fluid WorkCenter (for Campus Solutions)

Fluid WorkCenters are the most current take on a Classic tool. WorkCenters are navigation tools that enable users to access all the pages, workflows, and queries needed for a specific task (or tasks). Come to this session to learn how to easily create Fluid WorkCenters, and then deploy them so they can be utilized at your institution.
This presentation will provide the attendees with all the knowledge needed to create a Fluid WorkCenter. By the end of this presentation, the attendees will understand the PeopleSoft objects needed for a WorkCenter, the security to create the WorkCenter, the steps to assemble the WorkCenter, and finally, instructions on how to deploy the WorkCenter out to users.
