We will explore how large XML feeds, EDI 832 catalogs, and high-volume spreadsheet loads are consolidated through a standardized ingestion layer that performs scrubbing, enrichment, and validation before driving rebate and pricing processes. The State of Indiana has been evolving our long-term ERP and HCM cloud strategy over the past several years. After a year-long hold on the project due to an election and budgetary constraints, the state started an accelerated lift-and-shift to move all PeopleSoft FSCM and HCM environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in November of 2025. How do we address the pressing and ever-growing challenge of managing and interrogating vast amounts of enterprise data, both within and outside PeopleSoft? In PeopleTools 8.62 it is possible to add and configure additional OpenSearch Plugins to OpenSearch delivered for PeopleSoft. Symantec Search can be configured using Neural Search and machine learning models. Semantic search employs Neural Search in order to determine the intention of the user’s query in the search context, thereby improving search relevance. Neural Search can use OpenSearch-provided pretrained models, your own custom models, or a foundation model hosted on an external platform. Conversational Search can be configured to use external AI LLM’s. Conversational Search uses large language models (LLMs) to read the top N documents and synthesizes those documents into a plaintext “answer” to your question. At last year’s RECONNECT Live! at BLUEPRINT 4D Conference in Las Vegas, the State of Indiana received multiple inquiries about its experience with the Travel & Expense (T&E) module. Many users are either transitioning to Fluid for T&E or recently completed the move and are facing similar challenges. The State of Indiana will present an overview of its T&E setup and configuration, including agency and employee participation, reporting volumes, workflow design, expense type and location setup, and year-end processing. The presentation will also highlight key challenges encountered, solutions implemented, and process improvements delivered since moving to Fluid in January 2023. The Covid-19 pandemic created challenges for virtually everyone in corporate America. Keeping the State of Indiana’s PeopleSoft Financials users trained was no exception. In February 2020 (only days prior to the coronavirus becoming a part of our collective vocabulary), I kicked off a Statewide project to update our training documentation, which garnered not only the *attention* of our elected officials, but also their buy-in and support. Of note, this occurred after determining that many training materials hadn’t been updated since the 2009 implementation of PeopleSoft with the State of Indiana, and now, time was of the essence. Fast forward to the project kick-off session, where I hosted approximately 75 stakeholders only days prior to the majority of employees ‘going remote’. We knew the importance of not only updating the Instructor-Led Training (ILT) materials to account for PUM / version changes but also acknowledging the criticality of migrating the content to a Computer-Based Training (CBT) format. The pandemic gave us further justification to push this project to the front burner in our stakeholders’ respective workloads and get this information to our approximately 8,000 impacted PeopleSoft Financials users. In this session, we will discuss how we accomplished this with stakeholders that were almost 100% remote, we’ll also focus on the importance of migrating from ILT to CBT format and why, even post-pandemic, this remains the best methodology for training our PeopleSoft Financials end users. Many state governments are now requiring all employees to have a basic level of benefits. At Samaritan’s Purse we are using PeopleSoft’s Absence Management to address these requirements. Our regular full-time employees have standard benefit plans, but these plans did not account for our temporary and seasonal employees. We needed to address this gap so that HR could transition from manually tracking to automated tracking. Our resolution to automating our temporary employees was to create a new Special Absence plan within our PeopleSoft Absence Management module. This presentation will review challenges with both: 1) the requirements we faced, and 2) their configuration within the Absence Management module. See how we: •Addressed the complexities of states having different regulations •Handled a workforce that moves regularly in and out of those different states •Made our system available to those who needed to use it Adding a Special State plan to our Absence Management module allowed us to build on existing functionality and keep our absence plans centered within one area. We used modified Accumulators for lifetime tracking as well as Termination tracking. We setup Arrays to track approved working hours, retro payroll adjustments, and rehire options.
