Many state governments are now requiring all employees to have a basic level of benefits. At Samaritan’s Purse we are using PeopleSoft’s Absence Management to address these requirements. Our regular full-time employees have standard benefit plans, but these plans did not account for our temporary and seasonal employees. We needed to address this gap so that HR could transition from manually tracking to automated tracking. Our resolution to automating our temporary employees was to create a new Special Absence plan within our PeopleSoft Absence Management module. This presentation will review challenges with both: 1) the requirements we faced, and 2) their configuration within the Absence Management module. See how we: •Addressed the complexities of states having different regulations •Handled a workforce that moves regularly in and out of those different states •Made our system available to those who needed to use it Adding a Special State plan to our Absence Management module allowed us to build on existing functionality and keep our absence plans centered within one area. We used modified Accumulators for lifetime tracking as well as Termination tracking. We setup Arrays to track approved working hours, retro payroll adjustments, and rehire options. We used Brackets to identify Earning Codes and Time Reporting Codes. We were able to accomplish our goals through configuration.

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System (SMH) has been on a multi-year journey utilizing automation, artificial intelligence, and now generative AI to help automate the “touchless” processing and payment of non-PO invoices in PeopleSoft FSCM. We’ll share what’s worked well, where we had shortfalls, and how our approach has evolved over the years utilizing different approaches and technology. SMH will give an overview of our current non-PO invoice automation, including many novel solutions for extracting data from invoices, mapping to suppliers, defaulting accounting, and interfacing with 3rd party AI solutions. We will also share some details of previous versions of automations we implemented, and how our current solution evolved from humble origins.

I'll show how to quickly copy & build agents & agent teams inside of Oracle Fusion Applications. First, we'll look at some basics of Agents & then we'll look at the architecture supporting the building and leveraging of Oracle Agents. We'll also look at the Oracle vector database and also look at the Oracle Agent Studio for leveraging Oracle agents and agent teams inside of the Oracle Fusion Apps.

In PeopleTools 8.62 it is possible to add and configure additional OpenSearch Plugins to OpenSearch delivered for PeopleSoft. Symantec Search can be configured using Neural Search and machine learning models. Semantic search employs Neural Search in order to determine the intention of the user’s query in the search context, thereby improving search relevance. Neural Search can use OpenSearch-provided pretrained models, your own custom models, or a foundation model hosted on an external platform. Conversational Search can be configured to use external AI LLM’s. Conversational Search uses large language models (LLMs) to read the top N documents and synthesizes those documents into a plaintext “answer” to your question. Additional Plug-Ins that can be configured are Anomaly Detection and Alerting. Anomaly detection automatically detects anomalies in your OpenSearch data in near real-time and the Alerting Plugin can notify you as soon as an anomaly is detected.

Product returns are expensive, slow, and manual because someone has to touch and inspect each item before a decision is made. That lag drives up warehouse labor, delays refunds, and leaves your JD Edwards inventory and recovery values out of sync with reality. In this session, we'll show how JDE EnterpriseOne Orchestrator and Generative AI can pre-classify product condition before the item arrives, using only the customer's return comments. You'll see how free-text reasons are converted into clear disposition categories—New/Sealed, Like New, Refurbishable, Damaged, or Non-Resale (hygiene/severe damage)—and then drive an automated workflow in JDE: Orchestrator receives the JSON payload from a third-party returns system, calls GenAI for classification, creates the appropriate purchase order, and uses Receipt Routing to apply the correct status so inventory and refund processes update with zero or minimal manual review. We'll walk through the orchestration design, the GenAI prompt pattern, error/low-confidence handling, and how to measure business impact in cycle time, labor savings, and recovery value.

King County sought to modernize its legacy “one size fits all” web services by transitioning from SOAP/XML-based component interfaces to RESTful services with the Application Services Framework (ASF). This migration enabled us to streamline and automate deployments to our API management provider. As part of this evolution, we adopted the OpenAPI specification to standardize our API definitions. In this session, we’ll explore our approach to leveraging OpenAPI, the trade-offs between document-centric and schema-driven design, and the implications of Design First versus Code First methodologies. We’ll also cover some of the compromises encountered when using ASF.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne continues to evolve as a modern, connected workspace—allowing users to combine transactions, analytics, and external resources into a single interface. One of the most impactful ways to enhance user efficiency is by embedding dashboards, URLs, and web applications directly into JD Edwards through EnterpriseOne Pages and Café One layouts. This session explores practical methods for integrating external content such as BI dashboards, SharePoint sites, Power BI visuals, ReportsNow dashboards, or intranet pages directly within JD Edwards. With Oracle JD Edwards extending support to 2036 and encouraging customers to stay code current, it is crucial to find ways to make maintenance and functional testing processes more efficient. For most JDE E1 customers, relying on end users and subject matter experts (SMEs) with heavy workloads and limited time makes functional testing challenging. Consequently, the quality and scope of testing and documentation often vary dramatically and inconsistently from one project to the next. In this session, we will explore how Pinal County successfully leveraged the DWS SwifTest tool to complete testing for our EnterpriseOne 9.2 applications and Tools upgrade. This process also allowed us to establish a comprehensive library of standard and custom business processes. Key benefits of adopting this approach included: - Documenting detailed process steps. - Leveraging consistent test data for repeatable actions. - Automating script running. - Creating a basis for end-user training documentation. - Providing auditors with consistent documentation of testing validation performed before promotion to Production.

At University Pretoria, We created an Admissions mainly to give our users a realtime view of admissions stats, admissions targets vs achieved, Applicant response, registration targets vs achieved and relatime registration monitoring tool. Trelleborg in North America had used Pitney Bowes SSL in conjunction with an incomplete implementation of E1 Transportation. When the time came to move to Pitney Bowes SPE, it also gave us the opportunity to correctly implement the transportation functions in E1. We will show how the two share data and also the move from a superficial to a complete implementation of transportation.

The State of Indiana has been evolving our long-term ERP and HCM cloud strategy over the past several years. After a year-long hold on the project due to an election and budgetary constraints, the state started an accelerated lift-and-shift to move all PeopleSoft FSCM and HCM environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in November of 2025. In this session, we share how our organization transformed a fragmented, multi-ERP invoice process into a fully automated, intelligent, end-to-end invoice lifecycle powered by JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. With invoices originating from several ERPs and order channels—including web platforms, EDI systems, and customer portals—the business faced major challenges: inconsistent invoice data, manual intervention, delayed delivery, and the lack of a unified audit trail. How do we address the pressing and ever-growing challenge of managing and interrogating vast amounts of enterprise data, both within and outside PeopleSoft? Traditional methods often fall short in providing efficient and intuitive access to this data, leading to inefficiencies and missed insights. While PeopleSoft has made several strides in recent years utilizing OpenSearch to address this problem (Global Search, Real-Time Indexing, OpenSearch Dashboards, etc.), Generative AI has potential to unlock additional data insights. We will demonstrate how to leverage a platform-agnostic AI framework to interact with large language models (LLMs) within PeopleSoft to interrogate enterprise data. The IRS is replacing its legacy FIRE system with the new IRIS platform, making IRIS mandatory for all 1099 filings starting in tax year 2026. This session offers a concise overview of the most important changes—including new filing methods, increased reporting thresholds, and essential steps such as obtaining a new IRIS Transmitter Control Code (TCC) and PeopleSoft requirements. At last year’s RECONNECT Live! at BLUEPRINT 4D Conference in Las Vegas, the State of Indiana received multiple inquiries about its experience with the Travel & Expense (T&E) module. Many users are either transitioning to Fluid for T&E or recently completed the move and are facing similar challenges. The State of Indiana will present an overview of its T&E setup and configuration, including agency and employee participation, reporting volumes, workflow design, expense type and location setup, and year-end processing. The presentation will also highlight key challenges encountered, solutions implemented, and process improvements delivered since moving to Fluid in January 2023. This session aims to provide valuable insights for those considering the transition and encourage collaboration among other organizations using the module.

The Covid-19 pandemic created challenges for virtually everyone in corporate America. Keeping the State of Indiana’s PeopleSoft Financials users trained was no exception. In February 2020 (only days prior to the coronavirus becoming a part of our collective vocabulary), I kicked off a Statewide project to update our training documentation, which garnered not only the *attention* of our elected officials, but also their buy-in and support. Of note, this occurred after determining that many training materials hadn’t been updated since the 2009 implementation of PeopleSoft with the State of Indiana, and now, time was of the essence. Fast forward to the project kick-off session, where I hosted approximately 75 stakeholders only days prior to the majority of employees ‘going remote’. We knew the importance of not only updating the Instructor-Led Training (ILT) materials to account for PUM / version changes but also acknowledging the criticality of migrating the content to a Computer-Based Training (CBT) format. The pandemic gave us further justification to push this project to the front burner in our stakeholders’ respective workloads and get this information to our approximately 8,000 impacted PeopleSoft Financials users. In this session, we will discuss how we accomplished this with stakeholders that were almost 100% remote, we’ll also focus on the importance of migrating from ILT to CBT format and why, even post-pandemic, this remains the best methodology for training our PeopleSoft Financials end users.

I plan to review the Guardian Finance transformation journey moving from a decentralized network of applications to our current integrated platform in the cloud with a focus on our EPM journey and what we've implemented (i.e. Planning, Allocations, Master Data , Consolidations...). Over time, our JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment accumulated numerous custom integrations—each built differently and managed separately through batch jobs, external schedulers, and manual monitoring. We saw an opportunity not just to modernize these legacy integrations but to build a sustainable, future-ready integration framework inside JD Edwards itself. Using Orchestrations, UDOs, Pages, custom tables, and low-code/no-code extensions, we created a configurable Integration Portal that brings visibility, automation, and self-service directly to end users. The portal now handles processes across Payroll, AP, AR, and HR while preserving JD Edwards security and enabling users to re-run or correct processes without IT intervention. We’ll share how we transformed years of disconnected integrations into a modern digital platform that connects EnterpriseOne with cloud services, analytics, and AI, setting the foundation for future innovation.

We were faced with an unwelcome surprise: system performance declined drastically. Despite extensive discussions and thorough checks, we reached a difficult crossroads. Ultimately, we resolved not to proceed with the new 64-bit environment and instead opted to remain on the existing 32-bit system.
