Running stable for a few years now we have hourly update packages (in core working hours) to our PY environment and weekly full packages. My session will be a chance for the HCM attendees to discuss the Secure Act 2.0 solutions that we have put in place in the JDE software. This has been an ongoing topic in our SIG meetings for the past 2 years. Each JDE customer seems to have found their own unique solution. It would be valuable for all of us to have an opportunity to discuss these solutions as a group. Session abstract: This session will be a working session to discuss Secure Act 2.0. We have all had to comply with this legislation and have approached it differently due to some hurdles with the software. Many 401K vendors are approaching this differently as well which has added a higher degree of difficulty to find the best solution. Mueller has a division that makes custom products for our customers. These products often require heavy engineering effort as well as custom manufacturing processes. The business was wanting to capture more accurate cost information about specific jobs vs. using standard costing to provide the most accurate price quotes. The answer was JDE job costing. Manual entry was slow, error-prone, and impossible to scale across the 10,000+ invoices we process monthly. We built a repeatable integration pattern that turns those documents into JDE transactions without manual keying, now saving over 1,500 hours of effort each month. The spine is the same every time: an external tool (invoice-workflow software, a webapp, or an RPA bot) extracts the source data, calls an E1 orchestration over REST, and the orchestration writes through table I/O into the standard EDI/Z-file inbound tables, then launches the matching UBE. We applied it to five live use cases: Customer sales orders, originals and revisions — PDF extraction to F47011/F47012/F47012T/F4714/F4715/F4706/F47131/F47132/F47132T, then R47011/R47131. By standardizing on table I/O plus standard batch programs rather than custom code, we kept the logic inside JDE's own validation and security, and made each new use case a configuration exercise rather than a development project. Users ask questions in plain English, but only the database schema (table names, column names, and descriptions) is sent to the LLM—not the underlying business data. The LLM determines what data is needed, generates the queries and visualization instructions, and the application retrieves and renders the results locally. Because dashboards are generated at runtime, there are no predefined reports or visualizations to maintain. The same application can return charts, detailed grids, or complete dashboards based on the user's question. We'll walk through the architecture, security model, implementation approach, and lessons learned from expanding the solution beyond Sales into AR Aging, AP Aging, Inventory, with GL, P&L, and Budget vs. Actuals currently being added.
