As teams grow and change the value of super users – also known as power users, key users, your ‘go-to’ team members, etc. – becomes critical in the long-term sustainability of organization understanding and tacit knowledge of your core applications. How to develop new super users, including how to identify potential candidates, can be a challenge. Join JDE customers from across the ecosystem including Silgan & Brightview to discuss selecting, onboarding, and developing new talent in the EnterpriseOne space.

The Bank Account Masking feature was a much requested and anticipated change for many JDE clients. After the initial release: several improvements were made to the functionality following feedback from the early adopters. The feature: however: has been met with mixed reviews from our clients during upgrades to Release 22 or 23: as many had already addressed this issue with standard JDE security tools. The question these clients pose: Do I really have to implement the new Bank Account Masking feature introduced in Release 22? This presentation will discuss real life examples from our upgrade clients and how they have chosen a variety of configuration and security options to work with (and around) this feature during their upgrades.

For Morgan Olson Parts (MOP): providing customers 24/7 access to a catalog of 8500+ replacement parts for their installed base of Morgan Olson walk-in step vans is critical to keep their customers’ (e.g. UPS: FedEx) fleet on the road and delivering. However: to deliver accurate replacement part information requires complete traceability for each manufactured step van and its often customer-specific specifications. With JD Edwards: MOP is able to track a unit’s manufactured bill of materials to the end vehicle identification number (VIN) and to properly tag serviceable parts for future replacement. Building on this ERP foundation: MOP set out to digitally transform their parts ordering process by implementing an ecommerce webstore (www.morganolsonparts.com). The combined webstore and JD Edwards solution provides customers with VIN search capabilities to view available parts by van assembly so they can pinpoint the exact part required for the van repair. In addition: MOP has provided customers access to view visual parts diagrams: place orders: manage accounts and retrieve service related documents on a 24/7 basis over the web with real-time pricing: inventory: and account specific information.

Your challenge… JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is the “business system of record” yet many of the software solutions you use to manage your Operations and Maintenance activities are like islands unto themselves. Everyone wants integration between the systems that run day-to-day operations and the EnterpriseOne ERP that runs the business, but the scary shadows of the hard-coded interfaces of the 1990’s still linger…
JD Edwards Orchestrator, and the industry standardization of RESTful endpoint API’s, are changing this dynamic forever. No more SOAP and similar hard-coded interfaces, now your EnterpriseOne system can truly become your “system of record” by deployment of bi-directional Orchestrations, effectively “building bridges” between your ERP “Mainland” and your OpEx “islands.”
Objective 1:
Demonstrate the integration of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne maintenance Equipment and Work Orders with Graphical Parts Catalogs to facilitate visibility of OEM Repair Manuals and Parts Books with JDE Procurement, Inventory, and Maintenance (CAM). JDE Orchestrations call relevant parts manuals and allow the return of shopping carts of Stock and Non-stocked parts.
Objective 2:
Demonstrate the integration of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Asset and Work Order modules to ESRI ArcGIS for display of JD Edwards Work Order data in the Geospatial layers of your Geographic Information System (GIS). JDE Orchestrations update GIS Layers with real-time data captured in JD Edwards Asset and WO systems.
Objective 3:
Demonstrate the integration of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to Asset Performance Management (APM) solutions such as Aveva Pi for monitoring of operational performance such as Flow, Temperature, and Failures. JDE Orchestrations facilitate integration of conditional events such as equipment failures, triggering Work Orders and Alerts in JD Edwards.

The Oracle JD Edwards product team first presented this well-received session at INFOCUS 2017, and it's high time for Part Deux. With all the rich functionality added to Orchestrator quarter-by-quarter it's impossible to keep up with it all, and there remain some "hidden gems"—features that have been in the product for ages, yet remain undiscovered or underutilized. Attend this session to rediscover some of the often overlooked, but powerful features in Orchestrator. We hope you leave saying, "I didn't know Orchestrator could do THAT."
