“This year's conference was one of the most educationally impactful for me. I feel that many of the sessions I attended contained truly practical, educational, useful information and not 'light and fluffy', sales pitchy content! This conference could be a 'happy place' for customers who are hesitant to attend a JDE conference.”

30 Companies in 7 Months – Learn How Phibro Achieved a Complete Security Overhaul

Presented by:
Mary Kay Christophersen, Phibro Animal Health

Abstract:

Security roles at Phibro Animal Health Corporation were over 10 years old and had not been strategically managed during this time. Like so many JDE implementations, security was completed quickly towards the end of the projects. As a result, there were many security elements that did not adhere to standard best practices. The situation was resulting in significant effort by the security team to manage records at a user level, business disruption, lost productivity, and compliance issues that surfaced in their audit findings.

This session will walk through how they were able to easily design the security roles they needed, complete a successful testing phase, and then implement that solution across 30 companies, reduce organizational risk and consequently was able to spend much less time managing security because of a much more effective security model!

Objectives:

  1. Learn what indicators helped them conclude that it was time to invest in security
  2. Understand what best practices they wanted to implement and why
  3. Walk through the steps they took to effectively flip security in place without disrupting the business and the benefits they were able to quantify after the project

Abstract:

Tupperware has multiple JDE instances around the globe, making reporting in a consistent format using a common tool a challenge. Part of this opportunity is having the right tools, but a larger part is user adoption. This session will discuss the keys to Tupperware’s success in achieving a high rate of user adoption for a new, standard reporting tool across the organization.

Objectives:

  1. Review software selection challenges including the need for multiple JDE instances and releases, to use data outside of JDE, and to create templates to be shared across our global markets
  2. Discuss how to gain buy-in from each business unit to leverage a new tool including the benefits of a common tool and output, global shared knowledge globally and lower cost of ownership
  3. Understand how to promote and sustain user adoption through training options for busy users, internal and external support options for implementation and on-going support

Back in Control: Master Data Management Automation

Presented by:
Joost Engel , SCANMAN & fizor

Abstract:

Every company allocates time and effort generating dashboards and reports on their business processes. These dashboards and reports can only provide the information they need with clean and correct master data. Our story travels from traditional master data management to a process which automatically validates and creates master data in JD Edwards. While travelling we come across tools like JD Edwards Orchestrations, Web APIs, and our low code/no code solution. Using these tools we can avoid duplicates, meet input requirements, and perform internal and external validations in our master data portal. Our associates are in control of their own request while the controlling department can approve and create records in JDE with the click of a button. Join us and see how “Master Data Management” can be fun again.

Objectives:

  1. How to implement effective Master Data Management on JDE E1 including workflows, entry automation, validations.
  2. How to gain governance and compliancy in reporting through cleansed data and effectively managing your E1 data.
  3. Risks associated with poor data management, poor data accuracy and manual entry processes.

With all of the pressure on today’s supply chain, Dayton Lamina was losing business due to fill rates. Dayton Lamina’s division (PCS) wanted to better utilize JD Edwards by removing their bolt-on WMS and Scanning infrastructure. They needed tighter integration of data and reduced costs. Their business objective was to reduce errors in shipping, increase the productivity of their material handlers and reduce the added cost of supporting multiple systems. Their success story was built around better utilization of JD Edwards native functionality and taking advantage of an Orchestration based scanning solution.

Objectives:

  1. How to reduce bolt-on solutions and reduce complexity to maximize your investment in and the power of JD Edwards

Jacob Neises, Michelman, Inc.
Doug Palaske, K-Rise Systems, Inc.
Jeremy Stowe, K-Rise Systems, Inc.

Abstract:

Case study demonstration / review of the Digital Work Order Project. Trisha Muir, Michelman Dir. of ERP long realized status quo work order processes had to be improved. One primary reason was the need to improve visibility to the necessary PPE, hazards and process instructions before starting to manufacture a batch and capturing the acknowledgement from the operator. Michelman was able to add validations within the process to minimize waste and failed batches resulting in cost savings. Sustainability is one of Michelman’s core values; digitizing the paper work order helps them to achieve their goal of reducing the use of paper globally. Deployment is based on work center Zebra tablets with bar-coding OCR embedded.

Functionality includes full Work Order Edit of: Parts List, Process Instructions & Quality Tests with improved automation of Machine/Labor hours and Quality test data. Other functional elements include Audit, Inventory Look-up, Inventory Transfer, enhanced Media Object Integration and the ability to store “Comments” and “Versioning” of Media Object revisions.

Demo review will show User Role setup/permissions for Chemists, Quality, Operators, and Supervisor with dashboards associated to each role. Trisha will also review Michelman business case.
