Title: JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Task Tracking

Abstract: We all know that there is valuable data—”digital gold”—recorded in the EnterpriseOne database. Usually, this gold comes in the form of business transactions: sales orders, purchase orders, work orders, financial journal entries, and so on. The Enterprise Automation initiative aims to unlock that gold by using it to paint a picture of your business processes in the form of process models and metrics. But what about those important activities that are not recorded as transactions in applications? “Clear the warehouse staging area.” “Submit your timecard by Friday at noon.” “Resolve overdue deliveries.” For these types of activities we have the new Task Tracking feature, available with EnterpriseOne Release 24. Designers could already send orchestration and notification messages with action links, but with Task Tracking those actions now can be recorded in a table, updated with new statuses, and analyzed for efficiency. Just one more stepping stone on the Enterprise Automation roadmap.  We will also leave time for open discussion about how this and other EnterpriseOne features can be used in manufacturing and asset management scenarios.

His career has spanned technical writing and editing, consulting management, content management systems, and product management. In his current role as product manager, AJ is responsible for the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne digital platform, including Orchestrator, notifications, workflow, extensibility, and Enterprise Automation.
