In this video presented by Huda Al Hashimi, Director of Government Resource Planning Systems of the Smart Dubai Office, Smart Dubai discusses how they are working to make Dubai the happiest city on earth. Historically, Dubai was known for oil production. However, more recently, oil production has been on the decline, but Dubai continues to grow in innovation and economy.

Smart Dubai is currently hiring hundreds of astronauts to go to Mars in 2030. They have the biggest single sight solar park in the world with a 200mW capacity. Dubai has been running an autonomous metro public transportation system since 2009. They are supporting 1 million Arab coders through a program to celebrate, train and support the development of skills among Arab students.

Smart Dubai is responsible for the smart governance and planning, seamless experiences and efficient technology and enabling ecosystems for happiness. Under Applications, there is the Happiness Meter, which captures customer happiness data in a consolidated city dashboard. Another app is DUBAINOW, which unifies city services into a single, seamless user experience. Then there is RASHID, the city’s virtual assistant kickstarting the AI strategy and impacting 10 different domains.

Furthermore, there is the Smart Employee and Dubai Careers App, which improves experiences and boosts efficiency for employees and job-seekers. Dubai Careers connects job-seekers with Dubai entities. It is a total smart talent acquisition solution built using the market leading applicant tracking system “TALEO”. It requires an easy registration process, involves one profile, multiple channels, easy referrals, video interviews and convenient follow-ups.
