2020 Distinguished Service Award Winner: Rahul Nori
Tell us a little about your company.
I work in the Public Sector realm for The State of Minnesota in the Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) division. Together with our business partners, Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB), we support the ERP needs of our employees as well as the people of Minnesota.
What is your job title and what do you do in your role?
In my role as the Systems Supervisor, I manage and lead the PeopleSoft application development teams for the Human Capital Management (HCM), Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) and interaction HUB suites within PeopleSoft. In addition to managing the development team, I also work as a developer and technical lead on projects, upgrades, and for implementing POCs.
What Oracle product do you use and what do you like most about it?
In addition to PeopleSoft HCM, ELM and HUB, we also work with PeopleSoft Financials (FSCM) which has a dedicated development team. All our PeopleSoft databases are on Oracle 12c. For infrastructure, we have on-premise Exalogic and Exadata systems.
Overall, I like using the PeopleSoft suite of products because of their robustness and extensive functionality that not only addresses our customer needs and meets most of the federal and state regulations, but also helps us build in customizations that fill in the gaps. With the latest tools and technology delivered by PeopleSoft, we are also able to enhance user experience as well as meet the broader accessibility needs. Our on-premise Oracle infrastructure provides us with the computation power and support to be able to run these systems.
How long have you been involved with Quest?
I have been involved in Quest since 2015 as a reader of the online content and blogs as well as an attendee of webinars and presentations. RECONNECT 2018 was my first conference, where I presented three sessions and got the most by being able to partake in three days of learning, networking and knowledge sharing.
How have you benefit from being part of Quest Oracle Community?
As an attendee of various customer and Oracle delivered presentations and blogs, as well as sessions at conferences like COLLABORATE and RECONNECT, I found the content immensely helpful. They help me stay informed with the latest trends, technology & application features and industry-wide best practices within PeopleSoft. I have also been able to network with professionals and PeopleSoft product and strategy teams from across the world. With the partnership between Oracle and Quest, I stay assured that the content presented is accurate, latest and delivered by industry experts!
What’s one interesting fact about you?
An interesting fact about me: I love to travel, experience food and make friends from across the globe. That has taken me to 46 states within the US and 15 countries across the globe. You would find me doing something that would be a combination of those activities during my leisure time.
Do you have any children or pets?
I have a pet Beagle named Betsy. In addition to being extremely lazy and cute, she enjoys going out on walks and snores rather loudly as she sleeps through the day. Her excitement to indulge in treats and step outside for walks perk up my evenings and weekends. A fun fact, she was my travel buddy when I attended RECONNECT 2018. Isn’t traveling to conferences with pets and family fun? Takes the stress out of overly socializing and networking with borderline strangers.
Thank you for reading through my rambling and being part of the Quest community 🙂
Thank you again to this year’s award winners for everything you do for the Quest Oracle Community!
