Key Takeaways from Caesars Entertainment’s Taleo and HCM Cloud Integration

A chief consideration for the Out Of The Box (OOTB), or customization approach, to integrating Taleo and HCM is the need for a complex hierarchy. If multiple levels and multiple sections are necessary, customization will be required.

Any organization choosing a customization approach to integrating Taleo and HCM needs to plan an overall architecture with the roles of users, Core HCM, Taleo and ESB. During its customization, Caesars Entertainment added divisions (jobs, locations, grads, unions, etc.)  to the top tier of the structure. Next, they added steps (validating past employee status address and importing candidate data from Taleo to HCM as employees) to the integration tier and to the HCM tiers (generating and sending coexistence reports, for example).

Be familiar with the organization of user groups and user accounts throughout the integration process. User groups control user access in Taleo. User groups can be based on organizations, locations, job fields or a combination of the three. They are also assigned only to hiring managers and recruiters.

Employee information and information about internal candidates is handled differently in the HCM to Taleo employee/user integration. For example, in the import to Taleo, only the demographic and assignment data for each employee is imported. If that employee also becomes an internal candidate, all the remaining information from the extract along with the internal candidate’s credentials becomes part of the internal candidate’s file. Once this information is updated in Taleo, the internal candidate can log in to the internal career section to view and apply for jobs.
