If you couldn’t join us at COLLABORAE 18 to hear “Betting Big on Oracle Cloud at Caesars Entertainment,” presentation, we’ve got you covered. Check out these quick tips and tricks you won’t want to miss if considering a move to the cloud.
- Look for management team members to be able to drive engagement instead of “pushing paper.”
- Train managers to use Oracle HCM Cloud to access detailed information from their own desktops instead of forwarding questions to HR staff.
- Depend on Oracle to carry the load on cyber security. You’ll be impressed and able to shift resources from infrastructure maintenance to strategic investments.
- Expect to find “dirty little secrets” – the offshore desktop-accessed databases that staff kept before the cloud journey in order to “get the work done.” With Oracle Cloud, your business will want standardization to be key to the process. Educate staff about the system and how that foundation sets the stage for future growth and eliminates the need for hidden desktop spreadsheets.
- Prepare for a perpetual state of change. You will get new features and functions on a regular basis. These updates make continuous improvement possible.
- Make it a hard-and-fast rule that your company will not implement any customizations. Adapt your processes to maximize the benefits of Oracle Cloud for your company.
- Don’t underestimate change management. Train and retrain.
- Consider how you can take features, functions and modules for the cloud on an incremental basis. Don’t try to do it all even within applications. You want to be able to replicate your work, goals and functions from day to day.
