Effective January 1, 2023, regulatory and legislative support – including related product updates and fixes – for select PeopleSoft Global Payroll country extensions will move to market-driven support provided by Oracle Advanced Customer Services (ACS).
In a global climate of regulatory fluctuations, ACS aligns the value of ongoing support with the cost of delivering highly variable and unpredictable regulatory updates. With this change, country extensions will be supported through a more sustainable model and one that is directly responsive to customer demand. Customers will continue to receive legislative updates from the same experienced Oracle product team. However, with ACS, customers will determine which countries or localizations merit ongoing support based on the value added to their business, rather than relying on Oracle to make that decision universally for all customers in that region.
To make the transition to ACS, select delivered country extensions will officially move to Sustaining Support as of January 1, 2023. Customers that want to continue to receive regulatory updates after this date will need to 1) remain current on maintenance for the PeopleSoft Payroll bundle or the individual Global Payroll country extensions (if purchased prior to the bundle) and 2) work with ACS to purchase support for each desired country. Customers may choose to purchase market-driven support for any, all, or none of the countries offered.
Customer demand and participation will factor into the fee of the service for a given country; and if no customer contracts for legislative updates in a particular country, ACS will likely cancel service for that country.
Here is a list of the only countries that are impacted by this announcement:
Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom
Some noteworthy exclusions:
- PeopleSoft Global Payroll Core is not impacted by this announcement and will remain under Oracle’s Application Lifetime Support Policy
- PeopleSoft’s Global Payroll for United States, Payroll for North America, Payroll capabilities for U.S. Federal, and Payroll Interface are not impacted by this announcement and will remain under Oracle’s Application Lifetime Support Policy.
- Previously de-supported localizations are not eligible for ACS
What do you need to do if you run PeopleSoft Global Payroll?
This announcement only impacts your PeopleSoft Global Payroll deployment if you plan to continue to use any of the above-listed country extensions beyond January 1, 2023. In which case, the following is recommended:
- Take an inventory of all the delivered PeopleSoft Global Payroll country extensions that you currently use and are listed above
- Determine if each country is an area that will either decrease, increase, or remain the same for your organization’s employee population in the foreseeable future
- Contact Oracle’s Advanced Customer Services – before January 1, 2023 – and request a quote for support for only the countries you want to continue using beyond January 1, 2023
