Changes in Tax Update Target Posting Dates for PI43 and Tax Update 22-C

Release 9.2:  HCM Update Image 43/Tax Update 22-C, is now targeted to post on Friday, July 15, 2022.

Releases 9.1, 9.0, and 8.9:  Tax Update 22-C is targeted to post on Monday, July 18, 2022.

(U.S.) 34045354 – 2022 U.S. PAYROLL TAX & LEGISLATIVE UPDATES TOO LATE FOR 22-B DELIVERY was posted on April 13, 2022 to My Oracle Support for all releases.   The updates will also be included in Tax Update 22-C and HCM 9.2 Image 43.   The patch delivered payroll tax table updates for Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio localities, and Utah that were announced too late for delivery in Tax Update 22-B.

(U.S.) 34087708 – W4 PDF: UPDATE FORM W-4 FOR NORTH DAKOTA, NEW MEXICO, AND UTAH TO 2022 was posted on May 12, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2 only.  The form updates will also be included in HCM 9.2 Image 43.  The patch updates the withholding form templates for North Dakota, New Mexico, and Utah to match the 2022 Form W-4 published by the Internal Revenue Service.

(U.S.) 34099843 – PAYCHECK MODELER FAILS WHEN TRYING TO PROCESS AN INCORRECT RECORD was posted on May 5, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2 only.   The product modifications will also be included in HCM 9.2 Image 43 and Tax Update 22-C.  The patch modifies PSPCPCAL.CBL and PSPSTRUN.CBL to prevent the creation and deletion of a new net claim record not used in Paycheck Modeler.

(Both) 33840675 – MODIFY EDIT FOR MESSAGE ISSUED IN PRECALC AUDIT WHEN EARNINGS BEGIN DATE IS EARLIER THAN HIRE DATE was posted on April 11, 2022 to My Oracle Support for Release 9.2.  The changes will also be included in Tax Update 22-C and HCM 9.2 Image 43.  The patch modifies PAY035.SQR to issue the message ‘No active Job record for an Earnings Begin Date.’ only when there is no active record on Job Data for the Earnings Begin Date.

(U.S.) 34157435 – ALABAMA 2022 WITHHOLDING TAX CALCULATION CHANGES is targeted to post by June 10, 2022 to My Oracle Support for all releases as well as to be included in HCM 9.2 Image 43 and Tax Update 22-C.  The changes require COBOL program modifications and tax table rate updates.

Special Note: U.S. Tax Table Fields Expansion for Release 9.2 and 9.1

PeopleSoft HCM Payroll for North America will deliver the U.S. Tax Table Field Expansion in HCM 9.2 Image 43/Tax Update 22-C and Tax Update 22-C for Release 9.1.

Modifications will expand existing fields to support larger values:

  • Special Tax Amounts
  • Rate and Supplemental Wage Rate
  • Exemption and Credit Amount
  • Low Gross and Low Tax

Modifications will add new Special Tax Amounts fields to support more variables in the future. The changes will also impact COBOL, SQRs, Records, Pages, and PeopleCode.

Oracle Communities

Oracle provides a community platform for our customers to help each other and express what they would like to happen in our products.  If it has been a while since you have visited, it may be a good time to get reacquainted.

I would recommend starting with visiting PeopleSoft’s Payroll for NA / Time and Labor – PSFT (MOSC) community to see what others are discussing. This venue allows the Oracle community to help each other. We also have our support team helping out. Remember to set notification preferences to follow the discussions.

Next, I suggest reviewing the PeopleSoft Ideas Lab HCM-Payroll for North America – PSFT IDEAS and voting on ideas you feel would be valuable for your organization. Voting helps us prioritize. We value new input for any ideas for improvement, enhancements, or innovative concepts. Please contribute to the discussions because our teams use those comments to help with the design when we start working on an idea. Although we may not deliver the highest-vote items in order of priority and some ideas are not feasible, we appreciate the insight into what matters to our customers.
