Dave Bain, Senior Director of Product Strategy for PeopleTools at Oracle, presented a Technology Update and Roadmap at RECONNECT 18. During the presentation, he pointed out a few PeopleTools initiatives and actions that will help customers continue to move forward with PeopleSoft.

Initiative 1: Optimize Selective Adoption

• Action: Define a Selective Adoption strategy
• Action: Automate Regression Testing
• Action: Set a PeopleTools update strategy

Initiative 2: Run your PeopleSoft on the Oracle Cloud

• Action: Deploy and manage PeopleSoft in the Oracle Cloud

Initiative 3: Move to the modern PeopleSoft User Experience

• Action: Adopt Fluid UI
• Action: Update Classic to Classic Plus
• Action: Move to Elasticsearch

Initiative 4: Configure, don’t Customize

• Action: Migrate PeopleCode customizations to PeopleSoft Event Mapping
• Action: Use Page and Field Configurator for simple page customizations
