Great Dane has established itself as the transportation solutions leader of today – delivering innovative products and exceptional service to help customers and employees succeed. The company focuses on engineering durable and high-quality trailers and truck bodies, as well as fostering relationships that last a lifetime. The company has nine manufacturing plants and 20 sales branches.
Great Dane has made a successful transformation to the cloud with Oracle. The company benefits from the agility Oracle offers, enabling the company to manage its complex compensation packages.
Great Dane’s compensation processes are complex because, in part, increases in compensation can be made because of an adjustment, promotion, merit or any combination of the three. Increases can also be in lump sum or incrementally.
The presenters demonstrate how easily managers can navigate through their worksheets and analyze their allocations with compensation reports. Compensation administrators can start making changes for the entire eligible population once a new workforce compensation cycle has been created and a budget finalized. After this step is complete, the compensation administrator needs to open the plan to “updates allowed” for executives.
Top-level managers can open the compensation plan to navigate the workforce compensation area and determine which subordinate managers should have access. They can also choose access levels and set hierarchies for subordinate managers.
Role-based security allows for the appropriate read/write ability for line and compensation managers. A system of alerts and navigations prevents errors. As another check, the compensation manager can view the audit trail to confirm the actual manager proposed the promotion for the direct or indirect report.
Oracle Cloud has enabled the compensation managers to make the cost of living adjustments in mass using the modeling feature. As many as four criteria can be selected when building a model. After the model is applied, the compensation team can proxy as manager and confirm the adjustments were correctly applied.
Great Dane also benefits from Oracle’s real-time analytics. Compensation managers can view statistics by a specific component or the compensation in total. Watch the full presentation below.
