Microservices Unified Observability Across Apps, Kubernetes, and Oracle Database

Presented by:
Paul Parkinson, Oracle Andy Tael, Oracle

“Modern app dev and microservice architectures have made observability an absolutely critical requirement for DevOps. Currently, there are a number of disparate tools which can make this difficult and inefficient. Furthermore, app and database observability tools are currently quite different and separate, as are on-prem and cloud-based tools.Grafana provides a single-pane-of-glass view of metrics, logs, and tracing with the ability to correlate and drill-down between them. Further, Oracle’s open source Unified Observability Exporters provide metrics, logs, and tracing into the database thus providing a highly-customizable end-to-end observability experience that is unique in the industry and entirely cloud native. In this session, we will describe the details of this solution and the simplicity involved in setting it up.”

Discover insights and best practices on how Xerox moved VMware workloads to OCVS and supports operational consistency for any workload to back up in the same manner whether in OCVS, public cloud(s), or on prem with Dell Technologies solutions.
Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) SIG Meeting: Exploring Rolling Upgrade – Upgrade your Database with near Zero Downtime

Presented by:
Alfredo Abate, BBB Industries
Francisco Munez Alvarez, Distinguished Product Manager Oracle MAA

Join us for our bi-monthly Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) SIG meeting!
Exploring Rolling Upgrade – Upgrade your Database with near Zero Downtime
The average time to perform a database upgrade is one to two hours. This downtime would not be acceptable for many organizations as it could significantly impact businesses. In this session, we will cover one of the little-known gems within the Oracle Database that database professionals can use to address downtime. The rolling upgrade feature significantly reduces downtime during an upgrade from hours to minutes. Come and join us to discover how this feature can change the way your company does database upgrades forever!
