Welcome back, JDE Community! It’s us, Chandra and Paul, hosts of The JDE Connection. This week, we’re diving into one of our favorite JD Edwards innovations: UXOne. We both know how important it is for you to get the most out of your E1 investment, and today’s episode is all about transforming the user experience into something that feels intuitive, personalized, and, dare we say, a bit fun.
A Fresh Perspective on UX
UXOne isn’t just a cosmetic makeover for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne—it’s a fundamental shift in how users interact with their data. Built on the principles of Alert, Analyze, and Act, UXOne is designed to help you manage what matters most by enabling a more intuitive, actionable user experience. Think of it as your personal command center, tailored to your role, with all the tools you need to make faster, better decisions.
The Heart of UXOne: Alert, Analyze, Act
At the core of UXOne is the idea of managing by exception. Instead of digging through endless menus or running constant reports, users are greeted with alerts that pinpoint what needs attention. Visual analytics—like charts and graphs—make it easy to dive deeper into the data, while actionable links let you resolve issues directly from the same screen. It’s all about working smarter, not harder.
Personalization and Citizen Development
One of the most exciting aspects of UXOne is its flexibility. Users can personalize forms and landing pages to match their specific needs without requiring developer intervention. Need to rename a field? Rearrange data? Hide unnecessary elements? It’s all possible with UXOne’s intuitive “do it on the glass” design philosophy.
We’ve seen firsthand how simple changes like personalizing a form or adding a Café One layout can make all the difference. Instead of jumping between multiple screens to view related info, everything comes together on one page. Want to embed external content? Café One’s got you covered. Want to view your pdf attachments without having to download them? Release 24 provides this capability and more! We’ve experienced how just a handful of these tweaks can spark a flurry of requests from the business when teams quickly realize just how much time they can save.
A Glimpse Into the Future
While UXOne already transforms the way users interact with JD Edwards, presenting them with a new navigation paradigm, its potential is far from fully realized. Business process automation, Artificial Intelligence, and other options for accelerating time to value are on the horizon. Imagine a system so smart it not only alerts you to exceptions but also recommends actions and automates the response. The future of UXOne and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is bright, and we’re excited to see where it goes.
The Midwesternism of the Day
Of course, no episode is complete without a little laughter. This week, we reflected on Thanksgiving and shared a quirky fact about turkey-to-human population ratios in the Midwest. Spoiler: some counties have 20 turkeys for every person. Midwesterners, can you relate?
