Hey there, JDE Connection listeners!
As we close out 2024, we (Chandra and Paul, your trusty podcast hosts) couldn’t be more thrilled to take you on a journey back through this incredible year. What a ride it’s been—43 episodes filled with laughs, learning, and yes, a healthy dose of Midwestern humor!
From Podcast Newbies to Pros? Not Really!
When we hit record for the first time back in January, we had no idea what this podcast would grow into. Nervous and over-prepared, we re-recorded Episode 1 (and 2, because why not make it a two-parter?) more times than we’d like to admit. But as the year unfolded, we found our groove, sharing not just insights about JD Edwards but also a few laughs and some lighthearted banter along the way.
Conversations That Mattered
This year, we dove deep into topics that resonate with the JD Edwards community, from exploring the role of business analysts to debunking myths about the product’s future. Some highlights include:
- Episode 3 & 7: Lingo Bingo
Who knew three-letter acronyms could spark so much joy (and debate)? - Episode 12: System Codes
We took on the web of JD Edwards system codes, creating an organized structure to help new and seasoned users alike make sense of these critical building blocks. If you’ve ever scratched your head at components like Financial Management with system codes 04, 03, 03B, 16, 09, 12, 10, 11, etc… this is a must-listen. - Feature Functionality Series
Covering everything from manufacturing to UX One, we broke down JD Edwards’ vast capabilities in digestible chunks for users at all levels.
Engaging With Our Community
From live recordings at BLUEPRINT4D and INFOCUS to heartfelt interviews with amazing guests like Linda Sloan-Compton, Andrew Ostdiek, Alysa Mauer, Shannon Alred, Don Sauve, and Chris Noack we’ve cherished the connections we’ve built. Whether discussing empathy in business analysis or celebrating the wins of customers like Pete Cotton’s de-customization journey, these moments validated why we started The JDE Connection podcast: to create a space where the JD Edwards ecosystem could come together, learn, and grow.
Looking Ahead
2024 wasn’t just about reflection—it set the stage for the future. We’ve lined up some exciting episodes for 2025, including the final chapter of our Feature Functionality series (logistics, we’re coming for you!) and a deep dive into emotional intelligence. Plus, there are plenty of new Midwesternisms for us to uncover, dontcha know?
Thank You, Listeners
None of this would be possible without you, our listeners. Your feedback, questions, and enthusiasm keep us going. Whether you’ve tuned in for one episode or all 43, you’re the reason we’re here, whipping shitties on the ice (if you know, you know).
Here’s to another year of inspiration, collaboration, and maybe a few more Donuts—both the sweet kind and the icy kind.
Stay warm out there,
