Lessons in Wayfinding: Navigating Kamehameha Schools’ Voyage from PeopleSoft to Oracle Fusion Cloud

This session was presented at BLUEPRINT 4D 2026.

This session proposal tells a real story of transformation and partnership. Kamehameha Schools, one of Hawai‘i’s largest private educational trusts and landowners, took on the challenge of modernizing its legacy PeopleSoft systems. Together with Elire, they completed a full Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM transformation on time, within a 12-month window. But what makes this story worth sharing is how it happened. The presentation will show how a clear strategy, trust-based partnership, and Elire’s proprietary PeopleSoft-to-Cloud accelerator tools turned a complex migration into a repeatable success model. The focus will be on practical lessons learned: how governance and decision discipline kept the project on track, how data conversion accelerators removed risk, and how methodology shaped delivery. The audience will hear directly how Kamehameha Schools balanced education, land management, and financial operations within a single Oracle Cloud platform and why that matters for other public-purpose and higher-education institutions. The team overcame natural disruptions, competing priorities, and tight timelines while maintaining full scope, including advanced modules like Risk Management Cloud, Fusion Data Intelligence, and Oracle Digital Assistant. This presentation matters because it shows what’s possible when technology, people, and trust align. It highlights a proven model for moving from PeopleSoft to Oracle Fusion Cloud efficiently, securely, and with confidence. It’s a story not about tools alone but about partnership, the kind that defines successful cloud transformations. Key Takeaways: – A clear path from PeopleSoft to Oracle Cloud. Day 0. Day 1. Day 2. What happens in each step and why it lowers risk. – How a 12-month ERP go live stayed on schedule. Governance, scope control, and decision rituals that worked. – The partner model that sustained trust. KS leaders and Elire set simple rules for decisions and communication.
