P-053011: Conversion Complete: How DAS helped us get there!

In this session, we will cover challenges experienced in converting affiliate’s processes and data and how Sekisui House U.S., Inc used DAS to help transform data from non-JDE databases into the existing MDC instance of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. •Different accounting systems and practices at the affiliates meant Account Balances had to be translated from one legacy job to many JDE Business units. oCosts and revenue for certain types of transactions are recognized at the lot level in the affiliate and the community level in the parent company oUsed multi-row table lookups to create a consistent number of records oHad to introduce the concept of business units to affiliates •Different purchasing structure meant there were bid contracts that could not be “lifted and shifted” from a single legacy table into the JDE destination table oBids loaded by plan story had to be expanded out to include specific plan oBid options had to be expanded out for wildcarded option suffix oUsed multi-row table lookups to create a dynamic number of records based on source table oUsed table lookups to convert from incremental in the legacy system to best fit in JDE.
