P-052905: Standardizing the Chaos: FCL’s Journey to Automated JDE User Onboarding

At Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL), a diverse portfolio of business units relies on JD Edwards financial modules and benefits from a strong technical foundation. While the existing user onboarding process meets JDE’s system requirements, each line of business developed its own approach to managing the user process outside JDE. The result: a fragmented, manual process requiring multiple handoffs, inconsistent approvals, and limited auditability—often delaying new users by days. In this case study, ERP-One and FCL share their journey to reimagine onboarding through structured process discovery, standardization, and automation. The outcome is a modern onboarding paradigm built on an expandable automation framework, with JD Edwards Orchestrator as the integration backbone. By connecting JDE with ServiceNow workflows and Microsoft Power Platform tools, FCL is enabling a centralized, governed process where external systems drive onboarding while JDE remains the system of record.
