P-052819: You’re still building packages manually? Oh, honey… (this is a joint BA/CNC session)
This session was presented at INFOCUS 2026.
ORACLE has given us the tools – we shall use them. With Release 9.2.5 we got package build and deployment on the web and that means: “We can orchestrate it!” (AJ Shifano)! So we did. Running stable for a few years now we have hourly update packages (in core working hours) to our PY environment and weekly full packages. Our developers transfer from DV to PY on their own and our process picks those projects up and bundles them up, builds them, deploys them and sends out a nice notification so people are aware of it … and your CNCs can focus on the more important tasks. This is an example of how we’re leveraging it at H&R. This is not a HowTo, rather an inspirational session and discussion. This is a joint session with Andrew Ostdiek from JF Shea, who recently enabled this automation using ORACLE’s provided example to accelerate and simplify this previously manual process.
