Presented at BLUEPRINT 4D 2024
Session ID: P-040063
Managing day to day operations in an ERP system can be challenging in its own right: but trying to keep up with the implementation of three new work management systems: a new business unit: an upgrade to an auxiliary financial management system: your own PUM & PeopleTools Upgrade: AND day to day operations in the same year is exhausting. In my session: I’ll be discussing how we managed to juggle all of that work across a handful of environments in order to hit multiple go-live dates across six months while also supporting production. I’ll start by reviewing our timelines and the conflicting factors in play across these efforts: some fire drills that caused re-planning: and run through diagrams capturing our strategy. I’ll wrap things up with a discussion on how we cleaned up our environments after the go-lives and lessons learned on how we’re moving forward with a better environment strategy. I also expect that I’d sprinkle in a few general lessons learned throughout this whole process as it all took place during my first year as the manager of application development in this space.
