Tired of updating withholding paper or pdf forms? Or manually assigning localities for Ohio, Pennsylvania or other state localities? And, how do you pay employees for their work when they don't even come to work? In the past 10 years, online withholding forms and remote working have become more and more common. When employees only worked in a few specific locations, it was easy to setup those locations in PeopleSoft with its core features (including its tax requirements) and maintain that location for all the employee’s that worked there. But in the new remote working world (especially with COVID), employees are now working most of their hours from home, which may be in other states and with new tax localities. State tax revenue offices have become more aware of this trend and have been more aggressive about getting those employees or employers to pony up any work location taxes in addition to any resident taxes the employee should be paying. But this can be a maintenance and compliance nightmare for a payroll and tax department. Especially for states like Pennsylvania which have work tax codes in the thousands. In the first session, we'll show you how to stay in compliance, ensuring that the correct codes are assigned to an employee’s work and resident location(s) is challenging but we’ll show you how.

An initial Proof of Concept was performed using the delivered PeopleSoft Payment Request functionality. However, the delivered PeopleSoft Payment Request form did not have the SRS required fields and controls to meet all Non-PO APV requirements. SRNS IT Developers; designed and developed a bolt on Payment Request system was created to replace the Site-Wide Forms. To accommodate SRS specific requirements a custom bolt-on fluid self-service interface called the “SRS Payment Request Center” was created to enable more flexibility of the user interface and provide tailored workflow to each site-wide form individually. Using AWE (Approval Workflow Engine), the delivered PS Payment Request processes will process data through the voucher build process to create a voucher to be processed into a payment. This approach minimizes maintenance, avoids customizations, and maximizes usability/functionality.

Turner's Pipe Fabrication facilities were manually tracking employee attendance in three offline systems. From corrupt spreadsheets to individual employee files which resulted in a cumbersome process that consumed valuable hours of HR clerical time each day. This inefficiency not only hindered the aggregation of historical employee data but also made it nearly impossible to provide timely notifications to foremen and employees regarding attendance issues. To address these challenges, Turner implemented a custom application within the E1 system that streamlined the tracking of absences, late arrivals, early departures, and other relevant events. This custom application also allowed for automated reports and notifications via ReportsNow, significantly enhancing the efficiency of the attendance management process. By centralizing data and automating notifications, the application reduced the HR clerical workload by an impressive 40%, freeing up time for more strategic HR initiatives. Additionally, the implementation of this application across all facilities has fostered consistency and improved communication regarding attendance management. With all locations utilizing the same E1 application, Turner has not only improved operational efficiency but also created a more cohesive work environment.
Learn how we deployed cycle counting within our environment to provide automatically generated and randomized cycle counting based on item priority. We explain not only how we automated and randomized count generation, but also how we handled work days, backdated cycle counts, monthly and daily accuracy reporting, accuracy tolerance, staging locations, lot level accuracy, and recounting. We also explain lessons learned and potential pitfalls that we discovered throughout implementation at each facility. Prior to implementation, each facility was counting outside of JD Edwards in different ways, with no real way to track performance. Now with our new process we are closer obtaining the goal of not having fiscal year end wall to wall cycle counts. While we did have some development work, standard cycle count functionality was 100% unmodified.

As part of any EnterpriseOne upgrade project, there will be customizations to applications and reports that must be retrofitted to vanilla objects after accepting the latest code from Oracle. Traditionally, this retrofit endeavor would be undertaken with the expectation that majority of modifications would carry-over unless perhaps a new application functionality was introduced by Oracle that replaced the customization. Jump to today with the latest no/low code tools available from Oracle, such as end-user Personalization and configurable User Defined Objects that includes the Orchestrator Studio, JD Edwards clients can now replace their legacy customizations with the appropriate UDO configured solution. With the goal of eliminating customizations that can be replaced, MASYC's approach to retrofitting versus implementing no/low code configured solutions ensures your company optimizes the newest technological offerings while only retaining customizations that give strategic advantages to the business. This approach results in less customizations to the system post upgrade and thus helps maintain an easier upgrade path going forward.

Perhaps it's time to shed some unnecessary baggage and get fit for agility. The first step is to hop on the scale, in other words, run the Decustomizer Analysis Report. Then, a healthy dose of the JD Edwards digital platform will help you shed those unnecessary customizations and build no-code extensions to keep your system fit and nimble. In this session, we will explore several practical examples of how to lighten up your EnterpriseOne system for an agile future.
You've heard of One View Watchlists, right? Pretty cool, pretty easy: you create a query over a grid, the query returns some number of rows, and the count of those rows shows up on the EnterpriseOne user interface as a badge or a flag. Simple enough. But, what if that number could come from the output of an orchestration? What if that number didn't even have to be just a number? What if the visualization itself didn't have to be just a badge? Maybe a bar chart or a pie chart? Think of the possibilities. Introducing EnterpriseOne widgets! Come to this session to see how easy and powerful this latest enhancement to the JD Edwards digital platform can be. Bet you can't stop fidgeting.
The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne extensibility framework is the no-code approach to extending your EnterpriseOne system at every layer: user interface, data, and thanks to logic extensions, even the logic layer. It's programming without coding. In this session, we will explore the power of logic extensions, the various approaches to applying them to solve business problems, and the latest enhancements. No JD Edwards development experience required to join the session.
